Does my 5200 have that governor that dumps fuel in when it detects a certain rpm ? I wastold my 245 a had that. Are they the same carb?

Why switch to a 4200 carb?

What's a fair price for one that is in pretty nice condition? The Piston is perfect and it just looks like it's been taken care of. In other words, if I were to buy a New Stihl equivalent, what would it be? Model and price?

My father logged a twin pair he bought new. Unfortunately, they were stolen. Id like to find one in good shape to give to my son some day.

I'm on the hunt for one. My father had a twin pair of ported 5200's. Unfortunately, they were stolen when the prescription drug epidemic hit Eastern KY. I have the fondest memories of him, bigger than life with those Poulans. If you could spread the word, I would appreciate it.

I hate to do too much to it. It is a beast of a saw when it gets enough of a bite out of the log. But I think I need to take the time to dial it in a little more.

It's screwed all the way out and it seems to have locktite on the threads. You reckon someone bypassed it already?

I just bought this old 245a Poulan. I grew up running my father's 5200, so I have a fondness for big Poulans. I was hoping to hear your opinions on if gained performance would be worth the trouble of porting it. Or should I just leave it how it is? Thanks in advance.

I need some help from you more seasoned saw men. I bought this 245a. I would like to know all I can from the tag. Specifically when it was made, but everything I can learn from the serial #. Also what are your guys thoughts on this model. It's got good power. Thanks in advance
