    562xp a few questions...

Unless you are ready to bring in a 560 from the UK I wouldn't get excited about an upgrade as Liffey Distrbutors have no date for bringing them in yet at least the last time I asked, last week ! As far as I know the only 560 in the State is a pal of mine who won it coming first in the pole...

    The New MS461 M-Tronic

Well after having my one for just over a year or so I think it's a great saw but as it's at the moment pretty rare I haven't used it as much as perhaps I should have ? It got good power compared to a 460 it's smoother than a 460 despite rubber AV and as for fuel pretty much the same. The Artic...

    We need to help Cody!!

Just hit the Like ! I've noticed that on good old youtube the bigger the tree the more the howls of the great unwashed, if they knew anything they should be watching all the vids of small plantations of trees being put down because of withdrawal of grants etc. Cody you are dead right to put...

    Simonized saws.

Well IS we have gone from " just a muff mod and painted cyl " to replacing a piston etc in a couple of posts ? Now as I said I have 6 other saws that have been " ported " so unless they are all taking shortcuts with thier work Im more than happy with Simons work and what he , and the others...

    Simonized saws.

I don't know you Islandsaw but to say what you have in your last post about "being wary" is pretty much daming someone in my book ? The other inference is that he, Simon, learened his trade at your saw shop ? do I detect a touch of sour grapes ? With regards to the saws you have had in that...

A couple of cool British Columbia falling videos.....

I had asked him about the saw he was using on the springboard vid as it sounded like a Simonized saw and he was saying how he had used Dolmar but due to problems had gone back to Husky. A real gent with a nice way about him.

    stihl chainsaw made in brazil?

The factory was set up to help deal with the very high import duties and red tape involved in importing goods into South America. It also gave them a base less affected by European and American currency changes and economy slow downs etc. The casting foundry was found to be as good as the...

    Simonized saws.

Well I've got through 50+ tanks on my no longer clean and pretty 372 XPG and how anyone could not be impressed and happy with a saw from Simon would be strange to me. A true gent to deal with and a top notch job at a good price, what more could you ask for ? I bought my first Simonized 372XP...

    Falling pics 11/25/09

This was my Friday afternoon fun. We have had on and off storm force winds for the last couple of weeks. It's never much fun when they are in a heap instead of you being in control and falling them ! The Beech was 3' and had landed so it had tension all over the place just what I wanted ! I was...

    Poor little 441...

The worst part is that how many people will see this and think " I can do that why pay a pro !" Hope they only break something not themselves !!

    Square ground chain - File

I recall the correct term and type of file for square is " double bevel " so imagine a flat raker file with a cuttin edge on the edge of the file. This extra edge is also shaped like the top of the letter A I hope this makes some sense !! Beat me to it Alex D !

    best hard hat ?

Don't know if you can get them over " there " but have a look at the Stihl Advance Plus helmet is about the most comf I've ever had and has loads of adjustment for head and muff position. Has very good pull down eye shield as well as mesh screen. That said Im treating myself to a new Husky set...

    figuring number of drive links

Sorry I thought you were refering to 3/8 only however 104 would be correct in 404 I don't know where the 108 comes from ?

    figuring number of drive links

Ok , is the bar a Stihl bar ? A solid or sprocet tip bar ( Stihl ) have the same drive link count the only difference would arise with a 8 pin rim on the saw, this would be one extra DL. Now if it is another make then things only get odd if like Cannon and Tsu use a cutting lenth measurement...
