Its in your owners manual in the tech specs. Stihl has all their manuals online for free download if you don't have a paper copy.

Had a somewhat similar issue with a MS180 Turned out to be that the spark plug gap had opened past spec. Tapped it back down to spec, and it came alive again. Also make sure your bar sprocket is freely turning and well lubed. Had a bar get pinched in a tree and the sprocket got the worst of it.

Guess they spell "joists" differently as well.

So after tearing down the saw did the following: -pulled the in-tank fuel filter and blew thru it -removed the carb, and took apart; diaphragm was clean, and still "springy". -used air compressor and blew out sawdust from all the crevices. And after re-assembly.....same f$%*^^@ issue. Grrrrr.....

My prior batch of mixed gas worked just fine in my KM190 and MS390. I got a fresh batch of 91 octane V-Power and Stihl mix. Trying to eliminate variables.

My MS180C has a pronblem that just started. It will start up fine, have good low theottle response, but dies as soon as I give it 100% to start a cut. I've changed the air filter, and put in fresh mixed gas, but still prevails. Any help is appreciated.

2nd Update. The starting by Griz method unfortunately was a fluke. I failed to try the 3 times to be sure method of starting. So after putting a new carb assembly on it, she runs great, and starts on the first pull when warm.
