What Splined Carb adjustment tool fits WALBRO?

Ordered a 21 tooth splined Carb tool off eBay, Part number 530035560 which says it's for Husqvarna, Poulan, Jonsered, Craftsman etc. Tried it out and found that it doesn't fit the spines correctly on my Husq 141 which has a Walbro carb. It's VERY close, but just slightly too loose to where I...

Do i go with .325 Narrow Kerf or 3/8LP?

Today I verified that the 23 RM Pro that I bought is indeed the narrow kerf such as the 23 RS Pro you spoke of. I measured it's width across the tie straps with calipers, .150 which is the exact same dimension as the 3/8 x .050 Low Profile chain that's currently on the 141. I could also see...

    550XP Autotune Issues..

I wouldn't sink a bunch of money into it. Sounds like neither Dealer really knows for sure what the problem is, and it could very well still be an issue with the auto-tune bells and whistles. If you feel like doing some experimenting to get some saw building experience, go ahead and tear it...

Do i go with .325 Narrow Kerf or 3/8LP?

I went to a Stihl Dealer today and asked for a 16" loop of 23RS Pro They only had the 23RM Pro which of course is the Semi-Chisel version. I assume the 23RM also has the narrower profile like the 23RS? I hope so, because I went ahead and got a loop of that for now, so I can try the saw out...

    A ranty on new husky

If you want to understand Husqvarna Brand Loyalty, you'd have to go back a few years to some of the models that created that Brand Loyalty such as the 2 Series ie: 242, 262, 272, 288, etc. (Arguably the BEST saws ever built). I bought a brand new 288xp back in the 90's and kick myself everyday...

Do i go with .325 Narrow Kerf or 3/8LP?

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware that Stihl even made a .325NK chain that was non-safety, much less chisel too. I've always preferred Stihl chains when given a choice, and normally run 33RS on my other 2 saws. Great chain! I'll definitely give that 23RS Pro a try on the 141 if I can find it...

Do i go with .325 Narrow Kerf or 3/8LP?

Yes you're correct on the D009 for the 272XP. My mistake. I was getting confused with my 55 which is the K095 mount. I think I'm gonna go with the Husqvarna XF-250-66 Narrow Kerf .325x.050 bar, which I "believe" has the correct mount. Bailey's shows it fitting quite a lot of husqvarna saws...

Do i go with .325 Narrow Kerf or 3/8LP?

The way the saw is currently set-up (which I believe to be original) is an HL-180-56 Bar w/3/8 x .050 LP chain, running on a 3/8 spur sprocket. There's an OEM clutch drum available for this saw with .325 x 7 Rim Sprocket, which I've ordered so I'd have various options, since it was relatively...

Do i go with .325 Narrow Kerf or 3/8LP?

All the saws I've ever owned, and currently own have run regular 3/8" / .050 chain, so I know nothing about these smaller bar/chain profiles. But I recently purchased a small saw, just to have around for light duty stuff. It's an older Husqvarna 141 (mid 2000's) I'm trying to figure out what...

What's your saw weigh fully prepped?

Calm down Bob, you're welcome to opt out. I simply thought it'd be interesting to see the various "actual" weights of some common use saws. For instance my 272xp shows a spec weight of 13.7 lbs. "dry power-head" - (that's 6.2 kilos for you metric people) Wow, that was so confusing :crazy...

    Chainsaw fuel

I use ethanol-free gas mixed 40:1 with Husqvarna Synthetic and always add a little STA-BIL fuel stabilizer. I've NEVER had ANY issues, even if it sits around for months and months! Matter of fact I have an old Tanaka 2 stroke gas drill (that I hardly ever use for anything) that had sat in my...

What's your saw weigh fully prepped?

Thought it'd be interesting to know what various saws actually weigh with Bar & Chain, FULL of gas and oil, and ready to go. Might even be useful for anyone comparing various brands & models prior to purchasing, since specs only reference empty power-head. "Remember to top off your gas & oil...

Question for the 1990's era Stihl experts

Thanks again for the replies and info. I think any of those 3 models would fit the bill for what I'm looking for, and if they're all similar in weight, I'd likely prefer the additional power of the 025 since I'm accustomed to running more powerful saws. I'm just getting older, (and weaker ;)...

    Want to Buy 272xp carb!!!!

I made a tool by cutting some length off a regular Allen wrench to make it fit in there. Still a slow process, but the wrench fits in there nicely and fully engages the head of the bolt so you don't bugger it up. I now keep that cut-off wrench for that specific job.

Question for the 1990's era Stihl experts

Thanks for all the replies! I'm set on an older saw without all the bells and whistles and EPA crap. If my research is correct, the 021, 023 and 025 all share the same basic chassis, the difference being cylinder displacement and HP? Is that correct? Are the weights of all 3 saws basically...

Question for the 1990's era Stihl experts

Been looking at some 021's on ebay, and I've noticed some of them have the decal which shows the (H) and (L) for the carburetor adjustment screws, but some of them only show the (L) and it looks from the pics that the hole for the (H) is either not there or perhaps blocked off. Did Stihl at some...

Tillotson HS 260A vs HS 260S Carb?

Want to replace the Carb on my 272XP. The original carb is HS 260A. The only carb I can find is HS 260S which is supposedly a genuine Husqvarna part and correct for a 272. https://www.ereplacementparts.com/carburetor-hs260s-tillotson-p-620418.html But what's strange is when I looked...

    Chain cutting to the left

You, my friend, in a lot of what you said, do not know what you're talking about. Just another of the (when it gets dull, put a new one on) bunch of experts. How bout, just learn to file a chain and make it cut ..... yes even straight! Lol
