Want to Sell Tree Monkey Ported 064

064 ported by Tree Monkey, dyno sheeted, etc. I bought the saw a couple months ago, ran two tanks through it so far. This is what I was told on the history of the saw. Previous owner rebuilt the 064 with many new old stock parts " I built the saw piece by piece, all oem, nos cylinder, and...

    The Ratchet Scrench

I have one somewhere, but its not really any quicker than a standard scrench and it cost alot more to replace if its lost. I lose screnchs to the same purgatory rhat takes my good socks and every 10mm socket I own so i just buy the short cheap ones. I have several with the back cut flat since...

    Stihl 500i First Impressions

I tried an 8 pin on my 500i, which is stock with a muffler mod. It made the saw touchier in the big hardwoods than what I like. I run a 28" bar, full comp with aggressive chain and the saw would stall on the clutch if I wasnt light handed. If you have a lighter touch and/or softer wood it will...

    Climbing spur choices?

I love my Buckingham Steel irons with big buck pads. I went with steel because Im heavy for a climber, 250 in my boxers. A tree service can do some jobs without climbing, depending on how competent they are at falling and if they have a bucket. But without a climber there are some jobs that...

    Stihl 500i First Impressions

I bought saw with the half wrap and the dealer ordered me the 3/4 and sold it to me at his cost since the R model saw was backordered with no fulfillment date. I added the WCS clutch cover, dogs, suspension and bark box, 28" Stihl light bar and now its my do it all saw

    Can this oak be saved?

Trees can have massive damage and still have enough nutrients to bloom partially or fully. And noone can tell you how a dying or damaged tree will fall. If there is no wind and it gives up the ghost on a calm day then it will most likely go with the lean and weight. But if you have a...

    Can this oak be saved?

From the size of that tree and how close it appears to the house I would cut it if it was mine and if it was a customer I would reccomend removal. From the pictures it appears hollow at the base and hollow trees are a time bomb waiting to go off in a residential setting.

    Stihl 500i First Impressions

With an aggressive chain and a heavy hand you can stall just about any saw. I have/had a Tree Monkey Ported 064 and a Mastermind Ported 880 and with with full comp, full chisel chains on 36" and 41" bars I could push hard enough to stall them in large harwoods. That said, I run my 500i with a...

Now after a few years, looking back on the Aftermarket "saw" experience

I watched some of your review and look forward to finishing it after we put the kiddos to bed tonight. I agree 100%, there is very little to be learned about a saw in a short review, especially after just a few days or weeks with the saw. Work saws are a different animal than play saws and I own...

Dolmar 7900 vs 562xp huge difference?

Ive got a 7900 and its probably my favorite saw. Its ported with an 046 piston, and its a monster. It will definitely kick the **** out of a 562. Make sure to keep the oiler fresh since its a nylon bolt and itll do well for falling and bucking. It will do for a mill, but a 395 would be a better...

    MS 500i Backorder

I haven't had a chance to run a 592 yet and I hope to very soon. But it better be a hell of a saw to dethrone the 500i as the current techno wonder boy do it all. I have or have had saws from both major brands, along with Dolmars and Echos and the 500i is the best stock saw I have owned for...

    Felling cut

Cut what your comfortable with and what the situation calls for. Steep ground and/or higher risk of breaking saw logs I like to use a Humboldt to get the butt on the ground first. Cutting low stumps then a conventional is the ticket. If you need lots of directional control and to keep the tree...

if you could only have one saw

If I have access to a dealership then my 1 saw plan would be the 500i. It starts easy, runs like a raped ape, and runs anything from a 20" to a 32" bar well in our local hardwoods. If Im doing my own repairs to keep it running, then its my Tree Monkey 064. It only weighs 1.5 lbs more than...

    Oregon bar fitment?

Do you have a picture of the whole bar? Because as far as I can see there isnt a bar fitment code on there. This thread mentions a bar marked in a similar fashion and said its a Husqvarna branded bar. https://www.arboristsite.com/threads/oregon-bar-coding-deciphering.103870/
