    Chinese ms660 complete kit

I built a number of the Farmertech saws, MS361, 660, 250. Only one I have left is a 361 I spent a ton of time porting and getting a 440 carb to fit. It does well - uses as much fuel as a 440 while doing less work, is its big weakness. Seems like all the chinese carburetors, on all of the saws...

    New saw advice.

Every bar manufacturer, including Stihl, make bars 36 inch and even larger that fit that saw. I bought a 28 inch Stihl ES Light for mine last year - will never go back to a heavy bar :D That saw came with a 28 inch from Stihl when new.

    New saw advice.

I literally picked up a new MS362 with a 24 inch bar on it today. I wanted a long term reliable all around saw to compliment a pretty hot MS440 I have. I also have a chinee kit MS361 with 20 inch bar that I hotrodded a bit with ported big bore, muff mod and the carb out of a 440. Problem with...

    Lightweight Bar Vibration??

I'd think the full comp on the top would run smoother than the skip on the bottom. You don't file rakers? Or just too new of chains? They look nicely sharpened. Oregon LGX chain?

    Lightweight Bar Vibration??

I'm running all lightweight bars, Versacuts on smaller saws, Stihl ES Lights on the bigger. I notice they all wriggle more, side to side, but not a lot of difference in chain to wood vertical vibration. Have a buddy who used the Versacut on logging jobs in the PNW. He says he has a pile of them...

    Lightweight Bar Vibration??

I run several of the Versacuts, they are fine unless you pinch em. I would think that the issue is more not sharp enough chain. You shouldn't have to lean on it at all. If it's actually sharp, you should have ta lean back so it doesn't suck you through the cut.

10 yr old working on Husqvarna 55 saw (chain removed) -- has question

Recommend you get him a carb kit for the original carb. If he purchased a chinese replacement it may never run good again. If he's talented enough to swap out a P&C, get him to watch a couple you tubies on rebuilding chainsaw carbs and for a few dollars he'll be a lot further along than swapping...

    MS 660 bought off ebay

I would second the recommendation that you get with someone who knows saw tuning and have them work with you on getting that saw set up right. I would also second running a greater oil ratio such as 40:1 or even 32:1 on a chinese saw. Big oak trees can stress your new saw to the max. And a...

    Ring Wear

Just being nosey, but why did you pull the P&C off? Was power dropping? I'm running a ported big bore chinese MS361 for firewooding this year. It is kicking along nicely, but your pics would give a guy some pause.

044 STIHL MELTING WORM GEAR ON OILER

I had an AM crankshaft that the surface the worm gear bushing turned on was several thousandths too large. Thoroughly melted down the initial gear in no time flat, seconds. Ended up turning that part of the shaft. I was tempted to open the bushing but that would just build in a time bomb for...

    Chainsaw maintenance, handling/cutting course

Husqvarna has a basic chainsaw video series that is on the utube that might be a good start for a course syllabus.

Difference between Semi and Full Chisel chain

In hand, they look a little different, to me, with chipper having more rounded shape throughout the cutter. The profile on that pic looks pretty much identical tho.

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

I was copying from another post of mine that someone else referenced that. I think Harley is also a dealer.

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

I found that with a OEM choke and trigger it starts every time cold or hot in a couple pulls. The high idle being set properly is all the difference in the world.

If you have a problem locally, there are a couple dealers on this forum, like @redbull660

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

I walked into my local dealer and handed him the part numbers. He tolerates my wayward ways.

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

I would second the swap in of an OEM choke shaft and trigger. I did that with the one I built and it fixed the funky idle problems entirely. I think it cost me about $17 for the pair of parts. Of course, I'm gettin old enough the brain cells might be off a bit.

    water cooled chainsaw sharpener

I run one of these little inexpensive (~$20) misters on my mill. They will cool a drill bit or an end mill easily and very little water/coolant drips off in use, so little that I don't bother collecting it but just wipe down and let it evaporate. Seems like it would work great on a chain grinder.
