I bought a standard carb 462 from ALFA01 in December it is a great saw

Can you swap the mufflers that's interesting

Did you advance the timing

I'd sure try a pop up piston in mine I'd guess it would make a good gain up here at 7200feet I would think that with your wider exaust should make good gains but I'd like to see the gains with just the pop up Hope it works out for you

With the air injection the filter stays clean a lot longer I like the new design of the 462 let's just hope it holds up I'm at 15 tanks thru it and it's still making me smile Just my opinion but I think it's a big step forward

Sucks to hear that I've learned so much from build threads, Ive only ported a couple of my own saws and would never have the balls to port someone else's But I completely understand where your coming from

Did you leave the stock baffle or cut it out

With this saw and a 20" bar I think I would try a bigger sprocket

You might want to reconsider the timeing advance made a big difference in my saw was thinking of getting it ported and after the muffler mod and timing advance I could swear it was ported I'm not a expert but it made a big difference in my standard carb saw Good luck with the build

I got the STD carb 462 and love it was going to do a muffler mob and advance the timeing before I do I want to make sure the carb limiters can be removed anyone removed this type?
