    Crankcase venting

    Hello, I have a Target Super80 cutoff saw. Same as Olympyk / Efco 285TT. I am trying to understand how the crankcase vent that screws into the side works. Should there be any fluid (gas/oil) in that part of the crankcase?

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

    Hello, I am looking for a service manual for an EFCO 284TT/285TT. Same as Target Super80, Olympyk, Oleo Mac and apparently others based on what I have found on this site. Help would be appreciated!

    What is equal to an Olympyk 285TT-A Cut Off (Concrete) saw.

    Do you know what the housing is made out of? Its not magnetic.

    Target Super80 is also the same.

    I know its not a chainsaw but its close

    Fortunately, I was able to get it running. Was able to find replacement pawl and starter rope. It started right up. Paid $50 for it.

    I know its not a chainsaw but its close

    Its very interesting, I found by accident that these Target Quickie Cut saws made by Diamant Boart appear to be the same as Olympyk and Efco. And parts are still available from Efco that Diamant Boart no longer has.

    I know its not a chainsaw but its close

    I have an S80/14, your saw's little brother. There is also an S80/12. I am looking for parts myself. Were you able to locate a parts source or compatible parts? Diamant Boart says a chainsaw shop might have something as its like other saws (perhaps she didn't want to tell me) - wonder what...

    Ts350 -> 08s

    I've tried running it with both the factory settings and the 1.5 turn settings suggested above. It definitely has life to it, but will not stay running at idle. I guess next step is to rebuild this carb and change the fuel filter. Thanks for all the help!

    Ts350 -> 08s

    So then the manual makes sense to turn the H screw "counterclockwise" until it stops - it is assuming the screw has the limiter cap on it.

    Ts350 -> 08s

    Thanks. I did not rebuild the carb. I wanted to see what kind of condition it was in and see if it would run at all before I did any additional work besides putting it together properly. Previous owner had it set up wrong and made some mods to it, and the carb linkages would not work.

    Ts350 -> 08s

    Ok, thank you. I will try those settings as a starting point, and set the LA screw the way you described, and see if it will stay running, and fine tuned. What kind of tach do you use or should I use? I have a photo-type tach that might work for this (if I can find it). I've used it for HVAC...

    Ts350 -> 08s

    From the technical service manual, it looks like there should be caps on the H and L screws, and two different sets of screw positions are shown. I don't understand the graphics though. Do you?
