    Two-Stroke Oils: All the Same?

Thanks for the replies. Didn't know I was poking a sore spot. I ordered Echo armor-something. It was cheaper than the stuff at Tractor Supply, and I didn't have to get in the car. I figured Echo ought to be able to make an oil that works.

    Two-Stroke Oils: All the Same?

I plan to get a big container of oil for my 2-stroke engines. Does it really matter which brand I get? More importantly, are there brands I should avoid?

    Stabilizer for Ethanol-Free Gas?

Does anyone here have a good recommendation for stabilizer for NON-ETHANOL gas? It does go bad eventually.

CS-590 Floods Instantly When I Try to Start it

My friend just bought a used one (original carb), and he had a lot of trouble. He has found that if he pulls the cord with no choke, it starts with one pull.

CS-590 Floods Instantly When I Try to Start it

Right. That's why I didn't call the idle screw the low speed screw.

CS-590 Floods Instantly When I Try to Start it

The video I watched said fuel for starting was sucked in via the main jet, not the low speed jet, so that's why I was concerned about the H screw.

CS-590 Floods Instantly When I Try to Start it

I definitely monkeyed with it, but that was because it had started flooding and couldn't be started. I did the procedure from the manual. I will look into the L flow tomorrow. Thanks.

CS-590 Floods Instantly When I Try to Start it

I should have pointed this out: the carb is a brand new OEM job. It's not very likely that it's damaged or clogged. I just watched a video by a guy called the Repair Specialist on Youtube, and he showed how the H jet provides the starting fuel and the idle screw just holds the throttle open so...

CS-590 Floods Instantly When I Try to Start it

I stuck a 620 carb on my Echo CS-590, and it started fine. I put the saw down because I had an oiling problem, and I was waiting for a part. A few days later, I fixed the oiling system, put the saw back together, didn't mess with the carb, and the saw would not start. I downloaded the...

How to Reconnect CS-590 Oil Pump to Tank?

He got advice somewhere, and he says he has to drain the oil, remove the tube and filter from inside the tank, shove the tube through a grommet or something inside the tank, and connect the filter to the tube.

How to Reconnect CS-590 Oil Pump to Tank?

My buddy has an Echo CS-590 that is not oiling. He is pretty impulsive when doing repairs, and he says he yanked the oil tube while he was working on the saw. He thinks he pulled it loose from the tank, not the pump. Question: can someone give us a general idea how to get to the connection...

Echo CS-590 Running, but Still Shoots Oil Out the Bottom

I think Walbro carbs are justification for buying a different brand of saw. I have an Echo pole saw that has some other kind of carb. When it gunks up, I slap a Chinese job in there and keep cutting. Can't do that with Walbro.

Echo CS-590 Running, but Still Shoots Oil Out the Bottom

The big problem with that advice is that I am not charging people $125 an hour and pretending to be a pro, and I'm not trying to cheat anybody. I'm an amateur, so I'm not really supposed to know what I'm doing. And I fixed a saw two pros couldn't fix. And I wouldn't be here if the two guys who...

Echo CS-590 Running, but Still Shoots Oil Out the Bottom

I was fortunate enough to see people on the web warning about blocking the piston while using an impact wrench. I took the plug out, too. Now I can't start the saw! Wonder what I did this time. I found out I was missing a screw from the starter assembly. I can't believe people are seriously...

Replace Carb Check Valve on CS-590?

    Thanks for your help.

Echo CS-590 Running, but Still Shoots Oil Out the Bottom

I have never gotten the answer to this problem here, so I will post it myself. My question must be pretty tough, so other people will probably need to know what to do. The problem is a cut in the oil pipe. The oil pipe consists of a plastic or rubber block, a two-ended nippled, two little...

Replace Carb Check Valve on CS-590?

I found the shop manual online, and it says the correct torque for the cylinder screws is 60-95 inch pounds. I don't think I understood the advice about the check valve. I am reading the suggested thread. Something about using a valve from a different saw and plugging a hole in the main jet.

Replace Carb Check Valve on CS-590?

I didn't check anything else. I have been down this road before. The new carb works fine. The new carb is a Walbro. I have not adjusted it yet. I'm a little nervous about trying. I have been known to adjust carbs until they quit working. I have a tachometer, but I have never used it. I wonder...

Echo CS-590 Running, but Still Shoots Oil Out the Bottom

I am trying to get the clutch off, and I have the little tool that goes on an impact driver, but my 1/2" Makita cordless 18V will not drive the clutch off. I know it goes off clockwise. I stuffed a rope into the cylinder to keep the shaft from turning. Is it safe to put an impact wrench on the...
