    Update: Picked up the 36" bar and ran it through the paces yesterday (starting by milling some 2-foot cookies), and results were very promising! Ran/cut smoothly as long as I didn't push it. Attached a couple of photos and will post another update once I mill some 8-foot fir slabs.

    It's a Magnum w/72cc head, so as long as I'm using a sharp chain and am not forcing it (being patient & letting the saw do the work), it should be OK

    Hi Guys - does anybody know if a new 36" Stihl bar will fit on an old (80's) 038 Magnum power head without modification? If not, what modifications are required? For context, I'm using this for (very patient) Alaskan milling of ~30" wide fir slabs. Thanks!
