    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Rather than firewood this time, I decided to spend a few hours milling. Few pictures here, see milling section for rest ☺️

    Woodland Mills HM130MAX

Hi folks, Yesterday was a great day! They don’t happen as often as I would like with full time employment + 3 young boys, but I was able to spend 5 hours at the mill with my best friend (and cutting partner). He ran the mill most of the day while I cleaned up around the shelter, added a few...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

High of 37C with the humidity today but the kids and wife are away most of the day so why not catch up on a bit of firewood. All cut on my wood lot. All red maple and white birch (I try to keep my sugar maple, yellow birch, beech for milling). Not doing much other than splitting the odd few +...

    Question about 034 AV (028??)

Was just a hypothetical question. Assuming the only one that would work would come off a 028 super? Also assuming a non super 28 has a different measurement?

    Question about 034 AV (028??)

Hi all, Quick question, both the 028 and 034 non super are 46mm, meanwhile the 034 super and 036 are 48mm.. does that mean a 028 46mm piston and cylinder would work on a 034 AV non super saw? Thank you, M

    Woodlander HM130Max review

Got mine in September 2021 and love it. I've not been able to use it much this spring/summer, but the memories are still there! Might try to swing by tomorrow and cut one log. :)

Want to Buy Looking for a 034/036/360/362

Hi folks, It's been a while since I've posted and even read these forums, but I'll get right to it. Two weeks ago, I was victim of a theft. My garage is/was easily accessible so they've let themselves in, stole every drop of gas they could, my carry bag (files, wedges, etc.) and my two favorite...

    Falling pics 11/25/09

I’ve neglected most of these for over a year but I finally got to them now. My plan is to run the mill pretty steady after the holidays until the big cold/snow then I start my firewood! BF, WS and the occasional RS in pile. And yes yes, I have a trailer but for the bit I was doing, it was...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Best friend and I were out and about today cutting some more firewood. I scouted a bit before he joined me and I stumbled on an old existing ATV trail that would otherwise be hidden by leaves in the summer time. Lots of good firewood on both sides of the trail and it goes across a section of my...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

I was supposed to go cutting Tuesday and today. Tuesday was my oldest son’s fourth birthday and there was a dandy snow storm so I didn’t get out. Today (Thursday), we spent some time outside cleaning another 10cm we received overnight into today. Snow is starting to accumulate now!

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

I haven’t decided what I’m doing yet. My wood lot is 10 minutes east. Whether I drive it there in the spring or float is there, is the question. So I either cough up 40$ ish twice a year to bring it there and back or buy a trailer for 2k? I’m guessing and does the trick too. Now I also need to...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Guys... dudes... homies and sisters... we finally got a tractor!! So I’ve been kinda wishing and dreaming for a couple years now for a tractor. I’m literally a little kid now. TRACTORS ARE SO FUN TO DRIVE. Oh yeah it’s my first tractor. Ok so we contemplated buying new + interest (disgusting) or...

    Tree identification help!

Thank you good sir! I still say the Latin names daily. I guess it's the price to pay after studying forestry for two years :)

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

...I broke the pull cord on my snowblower so I took out the ol’ scoop (yes I could’ve used electric start I guess). Really not bad for 25 minutes.. I thought it was going to take longer than that with the scoop...... ok fine my neighbor saw me and saved my life with his tractor. I can’t wait...
