    Full circle crankshaft

Rupedoggy, I could care less if I win or not my satisfaction is knowing I can build something that makes them spend more of their money buying better saws. I'm pretty sure all the saws I ran against this weekend were all bought except mine witch I built and sharpened the chain myself. I could...

    Full circle crankshaft

I'm just looking . I guess I will do more research on this. I'm new to the hot saws and I enjoy building the saws myself so I will figure it out.

    Full circle crankshaft

Looking for a full circle crankshaft for a husky 385xp. I just ran my 372 in a woodsman's competition and it's a tough day when you have to race a bunch of 3120's . So my next step is to get a full circle crankshaft for my 385 that needs rebuilt and start there and work my way up. So if anyone...

    Want to Buy Js2260/husky562xp crankshaft

Ok. I have one of those on the floor. Lol but it needs both bearings. I have since found a crankshaft. It was for a 2260 and they are different between the two saws

    Saving Scored Piston

I just use a 3 stone hone from the parts store . Use it with clean oil and go easy. Use a fine grit hone. They don't work on cylinders with open transfer ports.

    Saving Scored Piston

I'm sure you can find rings online and when you hone the cylinder just go easy as to not wear through the nikisil liner in the cylinder.

    Saving Scored Piston

If the cylinder is scorn there are only 2 metals on the piston that can do that and the aluminum would most likely transfer to the cylinder so that leaves the rings. The rings may look fine but I bet if you look and feel closely the rings have flat spots on the sealing surface .

    Saving Scored Piston

The rings will be under sized due to the failure. If you do a compression test on it I would bet you find some low compression I'm guessing around 75-80 psi. The said thing is for aluminum transfer. Your cylinder doesn't appear to have any aluminum transfer in it so I wouldn't try the acid in...

    Saving Scored Piston

If you run a hone gently in the cylinder you can clean that up . Did you replace the piston rings? Looking at the cylinder a set of new rings and it should run.

    Jonsered 2260 crank seal

I have built 4 of these saws and this is the first one to do this. I built it for a customer and I dropped it off to him last night and he came back with it today saying it sounded weird like a popping noise. I started it quickly and yup it sounds bad. I started in by checking fuel for water and...

    Large mount 2260

Well I weighed this saw today and with a 20" bar and 3/8 chain full of fluids it came in at 19 pounds. Not sure I'm going to keep it together for long but I might as I just got a wrecked 2260 with a good crank and piston and cylinder so I can possible build one more.

    Porting

New to porting or want to port take note. I'm new to most all of this and I want to learn but I prefer to start at the beginning and learn a little theory of why to do it and how to do it. And what numbers to look for on a timing wheel . So far I haven't seen much for me to take note on.

    Carbon?.

I was just working on my 372xp project and ran into the same thing. I did find some info on berryman carburetor cleaner but not too sure if it works. I'll be following closely.

    Large mount 2260

I need to find someone to port the crap out of it so I can try my hand at some competitions this summer/ fall. But I'm still green with all the porting and stuff but I want to learn.

    Large mount 2260

I agree . This is what happens when I get bored and I'm waiting for more parts to build my 372.
