    Tree Damage From Crop Spraying

Found out the hard way my Confederate Rose Bushes don't like Roundup sprayed anywhere around them. Bees don't like it also, sprayed a area behind the house, about 4 acres, with a light dose of Roundup to control weeds and allow the grass to grow. Had a bee hive close and after spraying they...

    Poulan 4000

I believe it's a 65 cc saw, I have one with a 21 in, bow bar on it and it cuts great, all stock. It's got good torque and pulls the extra chain on the bow bar with no problem. The saw is 40 years old and is used around the the farm and for bucking firewood, not had a hard life but used a good...

Yep, that's what I thought it said, wonder how many of the PRO's have a certificate designating them as burn specialist? Seems the fellow was asking for help, he got the best advice on the first page and he can mull over his options. The rest of the thread, well it has lead to some informative...

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

Well folks, I was just pointing out that some of the other suggestion by other posters as to starting brush fires are in violation just as burning tires. I'm sure we have all done some of it, and may do it again to get that pile of brush going if in a tight. Me I wouldn't burn a tire these days...

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

Burning tires was something many of us did in the past. It's illegal now in all fifty states to burn in an open fire as is burning waste oil, oily rags and other things as some have suggested here. Don't be so quick to throw brother Bill G under the buss for your sin may be as great.

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

Looks like a good job for some 41% Glyphosate, spray it high on the bushes to get them and it won't affect what grass is there as much. If you want a good kill that will help get rid of the poison oak, spray it all good. Make clearing brush much easier, the 41% Glyphosate shouldn't hurt the big...

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

Most of my dangers were in mis-execution of the burn plan or not anticipating a problem. The folks that really are in danger is the Hotshots, where they have no control and have to establish control over a changing situation minute by minute. I work some wildfires and I can tell you it's hair...

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

The updraft will carry most of the smoke up at the site of the fire, the problem with the smoke will be downwind, maybe miles and miles from the fire. You can see how strong the updraft is by the debris it picking up, most of what you see around the firefighters is dust generated by the wind...

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

It was Timber Company land, I believe it was 4000 acres of a 35,000 acre preserve the State leased for a game preserve. It was mixed, about 2000 acres 2 1/2 year old clearcut that had been sprayed with chemical for to prepare for burning and replanting, about a 1000 acres of 14 year old loblolly...

Brush and debris pile burning in cold weather?

When we burned windrows sometimes it could take weeks for the fires to go completely go out. When wind rowed, stumps and other debris would get covered up with dirt which cut oxygen off and created a slow burn. If spotted we would take the machine with the root rake on it and shake the pile to...
