Any idea what this wood is?

It looks like persimmon. I cut a few persimmon trees about a month ago all the stumps have a black tar looking ring around them now. It makes good fire wood.

    Be Careful Out There

I’m sorry for your bad luck. I did about the same thing a few years ago only it was my pinky finger between the round and stop plate. It flattened the the end of my finger from the last joint out needless to say it busted it and broke the bone. Lots of stitches no surgery my finger is twisted...

    December Split

I ordered it around the first of August. A few weeks before the show I saw a couple videos of the box wedge with the pull back arm and called him and had him add it on the machine and I’m glad I did.

Congrats on getting the new splitter. I started looking at new splitters back last winter I watched videos and researched a lot of splitters. I liked the Wolf Ridge I called and left my contact information two times no one ever responded to me so I assumed they get a lot of calls from people...

Injuries or chronic problems related to wood harvesting/splitting

I’ve got a lot of back and neck problems the last couple years fire wood has caused me a lot of pain but I like doing it and don’t want to stop. I finally pulled the trigger and bought a eastonmade 12-22 splitter with the new box wedge and pull back arm. We’ve split about 6 full cords of all...

Injuries or chronic problems related to wood harvesting/splitting

My son bought a hookaroon At the Paul Bunyan festival at the Paul Bunyan festival in Ohio this month. I wish I would have bought one years ago. Its a lot easier on a old wore out back like mine than bending over and picking up every piece of wood. You won’t be disappointed with it.

    Hardy H4 Question

Hi Adam I’ve owned a H4 for 7 or 8 years now. Mine has a little steam coming around the smoke stack also it has since it’s been new I’ve always thought it was condensation running down the condenser stack inside the outer shell and turned to steam when it gathered around the smoke stack. Mine...

    Wood splitter recommendations

I’ve had a 37 ton Northststar for several years it’s been a good machine and still is. I’ve made arrangements with Andrew Easton at Eastonmade to buy a new 12-22 at the Paul Bunyan show in Ohio in a couple weeks. I don’t sell wood but I burn 9 to 12 full cords of wood a season. I’m not getting...

    TSC hydraulic fluid ?

The typical wood splitter has a pretty simple hydraulic system, pump one maybe two cylinders, valve body a few hoses tank and filter Even simple mechanical equipment has to be serviced every once in a while. $100 worth of oil and filters every two or three years is a lot cheaper than replacing...

    OWB Help

I’ve replaced the refill float switch 2 times and one door seal. When the fan shuts off there’s no air gets in the stove...

    Motivation and staying motivated

Everyone has opinions about everything I think you’ve got some good advice from some people on this thread. Most people have to work for everything they get and it’s not usually easy. I’ve worked as many hours a week as most people I’ve worked out of town for a week at a time for years and my...

    New Timberwolf alpha

The alpha is a good looking machine with the box splitter on it. From what I can see it doesn’t have much more waste than my splitter with the four way wedge on it does. Type of wood makes a difference in waste stringy is always terrible. I’d like to see videos with the 12.5 hp and some knotty...
