Stihl MS200 bogs down at throttle

I"d listen to lonewolf. He's torn down, fixed, and rebuilt more of the ms200s that anyone else I know of.

Exact Measurement for Gas and oil?

When mixing oil, you must be very very careful. If it's not exactly 50:1, your saw will self detonate. This also means that your oil must be at the same temperature as your gas when measuring it. Otherwise it'll throw your ratios out of whack, and the saw will die a horrible death. If you...

    stihl 500i

I've talked to a few guys that are using the TS500i cutoff saws. They seem to absolutely love them. Prime pull and go every time. No dicking around with carbs.

    World's loudest pencil sharpener?

Up here, the posts rot off level with the ground. The bottom is still good, and the top is still good. So a company here produces shrink wrap to go around the posts. You figure out the depth you're pounding the post, put this foot long piece of shrink wrap onto it, and shrink it with a weed...

Where do yall see vintage saw prices at in 20 years?

It'll depend on parts availability, and the reliability of the new tech in saw. Also depend on nostalgia of the buyer.

Stihl MS362 for a Jonsered CS2255 and some cash

Yes, there are 4 categories of saws. Homeowner, farm/ranch, pro, and arborist. If you go to Stihl's site, you can click on the various types and see what models are for each. Not all models are available in all sites. You can compare the specs on all the saws as well. However, not all specs...

Stihl MS362 for a Jonsered CS2255 and some cash

I'd say that rather than getting a 362 when you have a 441, it'd be better to get a 261. with a 441, you'd probably find that the weight on the 362 is so close to the 441 that you'd never really use the 362. A 261 or 241 are a lot lighter and better limbing and such saws. You can always sell...

Stihl MS362 for a Jonsered CS2255 and some cash

You got it. The 362 is a fair bit lighter than the 039 and the 362 has more power due to a different design. the 039 is a farm/ranch saw. The 362 is built more like a pro loggers saw.

    Your Experience 500i & 661

I'm pretty much in the same boat. There are 5 Husky dealers around me. Nearest one is an hour away. Nearest dealer that has more than 3 items other than oil and trimmer line in stock is almost 3 hours one way away from me. These other guys will order what you want, but never have it in...

Stop fooling around, Tom. Get an 880, get it ported and do timing on it and be done with it. Then go back to cutting your 6" sticks.

357xp Will Not Rev with the Chain Installed

Check your crank seals. Spray carb cleaner onto them while the saw is warmed up and running. A change in RPM will tell you if it's the seals or not.

Does anyone ever change their Stihl saws to EZ start?

Nope. It's has an elostostart rope.

Does anyone ever change their Stihl saws to EZ start?

    It doesn't seem that way.

Does anyone ever change their Stihl saws to EZ start?

I have a friend who has a wrecked shoulder, and I was wondering if it would be possible to put an eazy2start recoil on a MS261C. That in my humble opinion would give him the best power to weight ration with a easy to start saw. Makita/Dolmar dealers are nonexistant here, so he won't even look...

Rebuilding a saw then shelvling it before running

Just run it in the living room for a few minutes while your wife is trying to watch Wheel of Fartune. (Not given as advice. Spelling error accidental, but deliberately left.)
