    Jonsered brushcutter

I inherited Jonsered Lil'Red 300 brushcutter/trimmer with very low hours. It seems to be a well made machine, it needs new gas lines and a carb kit so it is not running as of now(it has a motorcycle type fuel petcock). It was made in Italy, probably by Efco/Emak? Does anyone know anything about...

    395xp/ need boost in confidence

If you look at Walkers dyno tests, a stock 395xp has about a 1hp advantage on a stock 066.

    My situation

I bought my first saw about 10 yrs ago for the same reason. I bought a Husqvarna 45 w/16"bar, it was good size for carrying but for sizing up stock it was lacking in power. The logs were to big to put on my bandsaw for rough shaping, so you have to be able to do some ripping. Mounting a big...

    50:1 or 32:1 mixture

I have an OMC Lawnboy, I bought new 19yrs ago. For maintenence, I've gone through 2 plugs, cleaned the carb a few times and replaced the primer once. For the last couple of years I have been using Stihl oil mixed 40:1 and it runs great.

    Poulan Chainsaw

If you're getting good spark, you might try cleaning or rebuilding the carb. Your needle valve may not be seating properly.

what realy is the best rip chain

Slabberman, That Weta looks like a Cricket, which I have millions of in my yard this time of year. I wasn't so much asking about poisonous creatures, but annoying blood sucking bugs like Black Flies, Mosquitos and Ticks. If you live in a land that doesn't have any, you truly live in a paradise...

what realy is the best rip chain

Slabberman, NZ has always looked like a paradise to me, especially with your trout fishing. I've always wondered what kind of biting insects, if any, that you have down there. Just curious.

    Digital Dilemma!!!

I like the Olympus cameras, but any of the better brands are good. If you spend a little more, around $250, you can get a 2 mega pixel camera with optical zoom. Digital zoom is worthless, as far as I am concerned, your software will do the same thing.

    Chain Brake

Yeah, it was stuck on, the box it came in took a beating. I got it loose by putting all my 240lbs behind it, hooking the dawg under my workbench, now it seems to work with normal pressure.

    Chain Brake

I just bought a new saw online, a 395xp. The chain brake seems to be stuck in the on position, I can't budge it, I put so much pressure on it I thought it would break. I took the side cover off and still can't release the brake. Help

    Which milling saw?

Kevin, The reason I have been trying to keep from considering a Stihl saw is, my local Stihl dealer does not have a very good reputation and he is known by some pretty derogatory names by the guys around here. The nearest Husky dealer is the local lumber yard and he has a bunch of high school...

    Which milling saw?

Thanks everyone for the info. I had planned on buying a mini mill in addition to the alaskan to reduce log size. I guess I should think about getting a 395 instead of the smaller saws.

    Which milling saw?

First, I won't be able to afford a saw like a Stihl 088. I want to get a saw to use with an Alaskan Mill and I have sort of narrowed it down to a Husky 288xp([email protected]) or a Husky385xp([email protected]). I assume that the 288 probably has more torque because of larger displacement. When looking at...
