    CAD broken?

I was up to about 6 saws.....a couple poulans, a couple pioneers and an 025. They all needed help when I got them.....I got them all running good....then I bought a 261cm which cured my CAD. I sold everything except for the 025. As a guy who only cuts a little wood now and then, those are all...

    Squish ?

I would think as long as you are using the stock gaskets and cylinder/piston there should be no change from stock, so you wouldn't have to check. When people delete the gaskets or change gasket thickness, that is when it needs to be checked.

Oil Mix Ratios and Cylinder Head Temperatures

I get that there is alot going on inside an engine and a carb. But I don't think it's a straight division. The spark doesn't discriminate between gas and oil, and niether does the carburetor. And when talking about tuning, I think we are only talking about one screw depending on throttle...

Oil Mix Ratios and Cylinder Head Temperatures

Ya....I guess I blew it.....I read the article after..... The conclusion of the article is that more oil makes more power. It does also mention that while testing they had to give more fuel to compensate for more oil. In my mind, that is only true if the oil doesn't burn. If the oil burns...

Oil Mix Ratios and Cylinder Head Temperatures

I don't buy the "more oil = running lean". Does oil not cool like gasoline does? The mixture is air to FUEL, not air to gas. And fuel for a chainsaw is a gas/oil mix. The oil burns.....it is part of the fuel.

So what's the current Two stroke oil favorite for

amsoiil saber with a little dab of dominator, a little interceper, a little seafoam and a little marvel mystery oil. I call it my super mix. I have been using it for a couple years in chainsaws, weed wackers and old snowmachines. I start at 50:1 with the saber and bring it to 40:1 with the...

    Poulan 2000 issue

the 2000 I had had an air leak caused by screws that were too long in the carb/air filter cover. I'm not sure what they were pushing on. Make sure you are using short screws in that cover.

When did you first notice a change in quality?

Its too bad some of our "eco-friends" can't figure out that building things to last is more environmentally friendly than buying throw away junk. The new stuff is still repairable, but they don't make it easy!!! I changed a $5 relay in my oven by removing a circuit board and changing out the...

    Ultrasonic cleaners

Pinesol with dishsoap and water is my mix. Start with hot water too. The glass jar is good for small parts.

lots of pulling to get bar oil into the carburetor

Everyone is new at some point. My first saw was an electric Poulan. I tried and tried to tighten the chain with the bar nuts still tight. Totally ruined the tensioning adjustment on that saw. I'm glad I learned on that thing and not something expensive.

    Ignition problems!!! PLEASE HELP!!

That's what I was thinking. I have an engine with a tillotson carb that was acting the same way. The ignition system was all good, but it would bog and die as soon as it went past 1/4 throttle. I started with a spray bottle of mix gas, and sprayed in the carb as I opened the throttle, and it...

    Ignition problems!!! PLEASE HELP!!

It almost sounds like fuel to me. If you spray gas in in the catb at full throttle will it stay running? Open up the low jet a little more and try again.
