    372 or 365 OE top end will work fine and maybe cheaper. No mods needed. I have 3 362's on my shelves now.

    Change the piston out with the 262 piston and open the muffler up and hold on. Muffler, clutch , piston are the only differences between 261 and 262xp

    I done this with a 9 pin on a Husqvarna 362, 16" Oregon speed cut bar. Was a tight fit but do able. An extra link would have been better.

    The cover help direct air flow around the cylinder to aid in cooling. I would also replace that cylinder if I was going to to do any milling with it.

    Yes. The brake handle will be shorter on the OE saw. 1/4" if I remember right. Have an XT on my 371 with no issues.

    A 262 3 shoe should work if a 55 fits, but are hard to find OEM. A 357, 359 maybe another option

    According to Oregon's site, it's a K095 mount so there are plenty of options.

    Depends if its a 2 piece or 1 piece ignition. 61, 66, 266, 268, 272, Jonsered 625, 630, 670 are in the family.

    Every thing is the same except the handle, which is no longer available. The w/A is the wrap parts

    Full wrap clutch cover is 503760802, over a $100 bucks, the handle is 503760802 is NLA.

    Full wraps use a different brake handle. No aftermarket that I'm aware of.

    Clutch cover, bar plates yes same as the 61, 272. Still in production in Brazil. Not sure about he top cover. Some of of the them were changed over the years.
