    Makita EA3500 review

I love my Makita/Dolmar 32, best chainsaw in the world. "Lightweight", handy, firm and cuts better than my Husky 445. I dont care about the cost - it's just a better saw. Plastic yes, if it goes to sleep? I buy another... Love my 5150 for the saw horse, and my 7910 for my milling, but for...

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

But you don't get the feedback of the sizzling sound from your whet cloth if you're too hot, and you don't get that effective cooling. Thanks too sir.

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

Ok, anyway what I do is simply to make sure the metal never gets hot, if I get a sizzling sound when I apply my wet cloth I ease the pressure on the wheel or apply it for a shorter time. What ever gives you good results...

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

So, you want the edge to bend or to be sharp edged - like broken glass?

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

So, if you had the choice to soft cool your chain tooth or harden it - you would chose to soft cool it ?

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

Well, I worked as a dental technician, melting, molded and prepared metals like; titanium and gold. Slow cooling versus rapid cooling is the difference of hardening or softening the metal. The molecules gets a different arrangement.

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

How do you harden metal? And how does you soften it.. warm glowed copper, soft or hard? Why does my edges break off instead of being left like a dull edge on the chain?

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

I want to correct that, have in mind I usually have consumed a beer if I'm on social network... (here) I had a couple of chains this weekend so it refreshed my mind. I usually do 13-14" chains because thats all anyone needs around here. I use 15 minutes doing the teeth - thats 15 minutes each...

Dual port vs single port muffler mod difference

Doe to the nature of people in general I'm not shure how to take that, but I hope it's a compliment.

Should I Stop Using a File to Sharpen Chains?

I spend a lot more time than you on my own and my customers chains, about two hours including washing and oil bath. I'd say ideally 15 minutes doing the theeth and another 15 minutes doing the rakers, but with the coffee brake, adjusting the machine and some calmness it takes twice that time...

    Aggressive Chain For CS3510

The Oregon nano chain, you might need to get a 046 bar (or what it is) for it. This is the standard on the Dolmar 32cc, it makes it cut better than my 45cc Husky.

Dual port vs single port muffler mod difference

Area is what matters (flowthrough), if you divide it into several outlets its about practical considerations. https://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/my-038-foolium-adventure.340536/ These 3 outlets have together the same area as a one 1" diameter outlet (72cc). This particular muffler...

    Minimum cc's for milling

So, how much money do you have lying around that you don't need - and what do you really need? The possibility of milling a couple of logs a year ? Yea you can spend 3000 dollas doing that, or take your time and get it done with a practical 70cc. Ahhh... those couple of logs are big yea! That's...
