    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Wait til they go on sale this fall and go with the 550XP. Excellent saw, and zero questions that it will run a 20".

    Husqvarna vs Stihl

Sound like you got a lemon.

Agreed. Everything goes into the same tank and field here, just like it should.

    Stihl 026 porting

The guy who ports my saws has posted his numbers more than once for guys who are just starting out. He's helpful, and confident in his work but I certainly don't believe anyone who's dealt with him would call him a retard. If anything, mine have run cooler after being ported.

    Store-Bought Potatoes

Not what you'd call a conventional method, but I plant mine the same way, 6"-8" deep with a post hole digger. I've tried several varieties of whites, yellows and reds over the years but Yukon gold and Norkotah Russet have become our staples.

Nothing wrong with that, whatever works for ya'.

    Store-Bought Potatoes

Looks like the rig they still use around here planting x-mas tree seedlings.

    Store-Bought Potatoes

Me either. In fact, some years I don't cut them at all despite what some know-it-alls seem to think is the gospel.

Who makes the best Lineman pliers and Diagonal cutters?

A good set of lineman pliers would serve you well. I have a 7.5" set of Klein's and an 8.5" set of Channellocks and I'm confident you'd be well served with either brand. The younger guys I work with run Knipex stuff and I wouldn't be afraid to endorse their products either.

I am new to stump grinding and have some questions.

Don't get emotional, it's okay to admit you don't know everything.

I am new to stump grinding and have some questions.

I call B.S. on that one. I worked in a machine shop early in my career that built cutting tools. There were at least 50 employees who spent 8-10 hours a day staring through a magnifying glass backing off countersinks and rotary burrs with an air spindle. Their was a dust collector hooked to each...

Chain damage... what the hell has he done to cause this???

I'd throw that one in the scrap pile.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

I tend to agree. This is clearly GM country around me, and there are a pile of 5.3's around here and very seldom do you here about anything failing let alone an actual catastrophic failure.

    The Perfect Gas Can…

You guys can have your Jerry cans, metal Eagles, VP racing jugs or any of those unvented plastic eco-safe pieces of ****. I'll take my 2.5 gallon Wedco to the grave with me.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Bingo. Male NPTF fittings will seal just fine when used with stand NPT female fittings, but the thread engagement will seem tight right from the start.

Dispatchers are the offspring of the devil, and must never be trusted. We don't have any dispatchers in the house, do we?

That is not a JIC fitting, it is NPTF, National Pipe Thread, Fuel.

I bought some 80dl 23RS from him recently. If you don't see what you need, shoot him a message, he probably has it but didn't list it

What's the big deal with the big dogs?

Bet they leave it off to shave a few ounces.

How much was that outer spike?
