Saws with no start throttle lock

Ok I will definitely take a good look at the carb and tune it and the idle speed. Seeing the lock in the marketing materials and then the mold delete on the real saw get me thinking there was more to the story. Why do the pro saws all have a half throttle setting to start if it's seemingly...

Saws with no start throttle lock

As a side note, any idea why starting the 52cc without compression release is fairly easy, but a 56cc Solo I have is almost impossible to pull start without clicking the release on. How can the difference be so stark, the increase in displacement is negligible and I doubt the compression ratio...

Saws with no start throttle lock

The ones I got don't have that feature, wasn't aware it was wide spread among the china clones. Would you deem it a serious improvement over the tried but true old start system? Comfort, ease of start? Is it really that much of an improvement? You just pull straight with equal force and at some...

Would you say it's an improvement over the old system or just some gimmick? Comfort, starting ease...

Saws with no start throttle lock

What do you mean by the soft start feature? Like a spring assist in the recoil starter? Did you notice if the choke lever interfaced with the throttle to give a wider throttle at startup?

Saws with no start throttle lock

In the pictures below you can see first the sales media with the button, then real saws missing it, with a faint circular burr line where it used to be: Schter Hold by Woodsmith1 posted Oct 26, 2019 at 8:39 PMSchter No But by Woodsmith1 posted Oct 26, 2019 at 8:39 PMSchter No Button by...

Saws with no start throttle lock

Will go on to make the mods to add a throttle hold open. It seems I can order the button/pin holdopen, would just need to drill a hole in the handle where there is a sign the mold was modified to remove the feature and add a cylindrical piece of plastic to act as a guide for the button. Any idea...

Looking for a "tachometer" for 2 strokes. Saw and wackers mainly.

Try THIS one for size. Bought it earlier in the year and works great. Had it on yard tools and an outboard. Works great, refreshes RPM every half second, goes up to 12k. Has a built in hour meter too, and can be adjusted for use on not only 2 stroke 1 cylinder engines but also 4 strokes and...

    Easy start

Anyone have any experience with the Stihl ElastoStart, basically a normal starter with just the handle having the rope attached to the handle with a short bit of massive elastic bungy cord rubber material, to dampen shock and transfer energy. Thought of retrofitting those to my gear if...

Saws with no start throttle lock

Sorry Andy, no arrogance intended, far from it, just trying to make clear to any readers what configuration I'm trying to explain, as it is quite difficult to put a convoluted 3D interplay of tiny parts into words that are understandable. Look forward to any input anyone has and don't wish to...

Ms390 trouble. How much impulse at impulse line

See if the carb will pump with you simulating the impulse line by mouth. Just suck in and out lightly for like a minute at a steady rate that should draw some fuel down into the metering chamber.

Saws with no start throttle lock

Are you able to get them started reliably without propping open the throttle, it just taking tens of pulls, or is it sometimes impossible without jerryrigging it?

Saws with no start throttle lock

As I wrote though, through the stroke of pulling the choke out, the choke 'arm' on the carb slightly bumps the throttle 'plate', getting 'caught' behind it in order to be able to release the choke when the throttle is squeezed, but with the choke fully deployed (this is the only state it has...

Saws with no start throttle lock

A question to all the experienced folks round here. I have recently experienced a couple of saws that have no throttle lock for starting. Neither the plastic button on the handle to lock the throttle trigger in a half throttle position nor some interlock through the chock lever. The manual also...

    Differences 45-52-58-(62)cc chinease zenoah clones

Mine too, took about 4 octopus hands to hold the cheater bar and the special clutch removal tool from slipping out the small grooves, and massive reefing on it to break the bond. After all that, decided to clean the clutch elements from the paint chips off the tool, which resulted in a further...

    Differences 45-52-58-(62)cc chinease zenoah clones

Just for completeness, I found a VIDEO of a guy doing a 5200->5800 upgrade, which includes the crank. Not sure if he was rebuilding a 'bad' saw, since it looks quite new, but bearings were also replaced, I would believe unnecessarily. Unfortunately it is in Romanian, but still gives a good...
