Stihl MS 150 TC Trigger Reassembly questions

Yes I figured it out. The trigger is still sticky, and the damn thing won't start, but I can get through those problems.

Stihl MS 150 TC Trigger Reassembly questions

Perfect!!! That's what I was looking for! Any ideas what that square box black plastic thing goes to? (Circled red in the photo).

Percentage of standing deadwood for a healthy forest?

I recently acquired a neighboring 100 acres. It looks like someone has already selectively harvested the valuable wood, with mostly young pines, leaning oaks, or standing deadwood left. There is a heavy undergrowth of yaupon, which I plan to yank from the roots and chip in place. I intend to...

Stihl MS 150 TC Trigger Reassembly questions

I appreciate it. The MS200T is what the MS150TC wanted to be. I have an echo 303 that is bigger and heavier, but I prefer it to the 150 TC. I opened the exhaust on the 150 while I had it apart, and hope that helps it some. Mostly, the Echo starts and stays running, making it a heavy favorite.

Stihl MS 150 TC Trigger Reassembly questions

I had to replace the entire ignition coil/pack on my ~2016 MS 150 TC (the spark wire broke at the coil). If you've done one of these, you know you literally have to remove the motor from the chassis to replace it, which I have done. The motor came out easily. Everything else looks good to go...

MS 150 TC Ignition Coil and spark plug wire part number?

The spark plug wire on my Stihl MS 150 TC is destroyed. It is too short coming out of the ignition pack to solder a new one on. Does anyone have the part number for the replacement ignition coil and spark plug wire? Prefer to stay OEM.

Piston Rope: What size? How long is your rope?

Looking to start a rebuild on an MS290. I bought a Husky for the interim. I have a small nylon rope, but it's long and small diameter. I don't normally have any cheap nylon rope laying around (lest someone use it). I was going to buy a couple feet while I'm in town. What size diameter works...

    56 AV Super or MS461?

Just one tree (*lightning strike). I'm sitting on one branch, the second is above me, the third is in the back. The trunk was much, much larger. You can see the lightening path down the branch I'm sitting on. Took me and three other guys two days, two tractors, and a dog to get it down. R

    56 AV Super or MS461?

Yes, mostly around Helena we have softwood, but down in Texas, we have 200 year oak that demands respect (the dog does, too). As I'm getting older and fatter, I'm leaning more towards comfort and reliability. Hunting for parts isn't really my bag. R

Tree hung up on other trees.

So technique? So you make a normal cut, it gets hung up. Then it looks like you cut through about 3/4 of the way, starting on the top (compressed) side of the tree. You cut all the way through, leaving a bit on the side away from you, then come back from the bottom of the tree so it doesn't...

    Sold 385 XP Husky $Drop

I'm interested in this saw, but have some questions. Seller, check your PM's. Basically (for the forum's sake) I'm wondering how this saw would stack up to a MS461 or similar as far as weight/power.

    56 AV Super or MS461?

Didn't see that; looks like a good deal. How's the 385 compare in power/weight to the AV 56 or 461? I've got three other Stihls, there is some value to running a single brand, although I'm open to the Husky. https://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/385-xp-husky-drop.335498/

    56 AV Super or MS461?

Looking at getting a bigger saw with a longer bar and higher duty cycle. I typically buy good tools and saws are no different. Which would you prefer, a 56 AV Super or MS 461? Was also considering a larger AV or MS. Planning on running about a 32" bar, maybe slightly longer. I don't mind...
