    Antique tractors

Idk if you would call it antique but I just finished building a 9n with a 48 Flathead v8 in it. Back in the day you could buy a kit with a bellhousing adapter. I made mine but it it came out cool. I take it to the local tractor shows or just ride it to town to get a cup of coffee

    Forget the piston stop

Iv seen more damage from piston stop or rope than an impact. Bent rods broke pistons and so on. I’m an 1/4 impact guy for saws

    Chipper's Ford 300 inline 6, sudden no-start

Didn’t see your last post. You will still have compression if the valves aren’t moving. Although Iv never seen a 300 wear a cam off. Enough to do so. Did it run fine before it quit? Sounds like there’s something in the intake blocking off all other cylinders or only number three is...

    Chipper's Ford 300 inline 6, sudden no-start

If you have spark, compression and your dumping fuel in it it has to be a timing issue or weak spark. Check it with a timing light if it’s good then by pass the voltage regulater and see if it fires. Are the plugs wet after you try starting it?

How precise is your fuel mix?

I use a glass measuring cup I think it only does 16 oz I think it’s made by anchor. They sell them at Wally World. Impact on Flywheel Nuts: Risk?

I take them off and put them on lightly with the impact but if you aren’t familiar with your impact don’t do it. Iv never heard of not using a impact on a Harley crank. 99 percent of the time a impact is less likely to screw stuff up in a situation like that

Why/how does it get this bad?

Last time I seen something this bad was a wheel horse 1054 that sat in a headrow for 15 years. It actually rotted the aluminum off the carb to the point where anything below the fuel level in the carb was gone and the main laid in the bowl.

What would I need to create this type of cut?

Ripping chain isn’t 100 percent necessary if you hold a good angle off the log.

What would I need to create this type of cut?

Unless u want to pack a aluminum ladder and a Alaskan mill free handing it is the way to go. If you hold the saw at a 45 or better or gradually plunge the saw in as you cut you can do it with anything if you have the time. Plenty of videos on youtube on free hand milling.

Makita 4300...how bad is it? W/pics

It’s really hard to tell unless you pull the cylinder. Iv seen many saws that I could clean up and save the cylinder and just get a piston and rings. I would vacume test it before tearing apart to make sure crank seals are good
