    Sorry being a bit vague in my last post . To much lay on the chain to the left or right off center can cause these problems you describe . I aim for as close as I can with out pinching thw drive link to avoid burning up bars . Alternatively uneven bar rail tops will cause the same symptoms...

    Sounds like uneven bar rails or worn bar groove. I close my bar grooves up as apart of regular preventative maintainence. Might be worth a look . Good luck safe climbing

    Two bar questions

    As far as breaking .50 gauge chains on a 500i I run 20inch .50 gauge on 3 of my 395s and a 394 and a 3120. Only broke one chain and it worn out start with. For what it's worth I love the narrow kerf for my application least amount of wood taken the better and quicker . Good luck with it . Enjoy...

    Added to that air will take the path of least resistance I.e through the AF so no real need for a gasket on the side . Love to see it finished father in law has one unfortunately I'm afraid it's in need of more than gaskets .Good luck with it

    Most of the solid inlet manifolds I have worked on only ever had 1 off the cyl and 1 in between carb and manifold adaptor. Can't say I recall a gasket between carb and Air filter mount. Could be wrong

    Have had a 661 with a dodgy oiler as a dump saw for awhile . Not a big fix easy enough to do . Water in the oil tank was the cause . Condensation over hot days cool night's and poor oil was the demise of the oil pump. Hope some of that helps .

    And to ando im not sure how to put both your comments here but any who . Yea just rip your billet right around and ive got a bucket of steel splitting wedges . Drive them in pick on one who looks like he will pop and then you can watch the rest and your driving the wedges make sure they split...
