As far as the saw itself goes, from what I can see in the pics the scoring doesn't look bad enough to lose that much compression. It looks like maybe some debris is making it past your filter to cause that intake side scoring. I have also read that a bad bearing (lower rod or main) can cause...

I use brake parts cleaner, a brass brush, and sometimes a razor blade (very carefully) to remove old gasket material. Once you hit it with the brake parts cleaner it should come off pretty easily.

Looking to pick up a Husky 350 that is either dead, or on it's last leg. Would prefer a saw that is mostly complete and in decent cosmetic condition, but i'll take anything into consideration depending on the asking price. Thank you!

I am interested in making my own base gaskets for a couple of Husky 350's that I am rebuilding. What would be an appropriate gasket material for that? Thanks in advance!

I was able to solve the issue by turning a dowel slightly larger than the washer on the plug, then gluing a piece of fine grit sandpaper to the flat end. After a few minutes of working the surface with that, it was good to go. Now the saw only loses 1 psi over a minute, which passes the pressure...

There is a taper outside of the sealing surface, but where the spark plug seals it is completely flat. That picture is deceiving, it had me questioning my sanity until I went and checked the saw. lol

Here are a few pics I took of the threads. I had taken a video as well of the pressure test but I can't get it to upload. When pressurized to 12 psi it slowly leaks down but it still over 11 psi at around 45 seconds.

I tried a different plug with the same results. Both were torqued to 15 nm as the service manual suggested. Technically it passes the pressure test according to the book, but this is bugging me. Video and pics below.
