    Jonsered-Husky346NE

    Interests change - I guess. Still using all my Huskys and cutting annual supplies of wood - I needed a break from the forum and when the format changed it seemed like a good time. I've been totally absorbed by my nature photography in addition to my job as a creative director at a...

    Why not much talk about the 455 Rancher on here?

    The only problem with the 455 is they're generally no better than the guy that's running them. Most tools will perform well if they are run correctly for their intended purpose and given an appropriate amount of maintenance! Oh yeah - when Husky decided to mass market saws through some of the...

    what saw to buy?

    I agree with TK Power! The Husky 435 is a great little saw . . . cuts like a banshee and is very light. Al :clap::clap:

    Husqvarna 445

    The 435 will do a nice job for limbing and wood up to 8"-10" or so. Very fast little saw. If you're cutting anything over that I'd look at the 445 or even the 450 as others have mentioned. Al

    Stove not putting out heat

    I agree. That semi-green wood will not produce the same heat that he had in prior years. Al :rock:

    Preparing for a day of cutting

    Should Be Obvious!! You're gonna need a couple of Huskys along to take over for all those Stihls when they crap out!!! Have fun - sounds like a great time. Al :hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

    372xp stock

    372 is a Great Saw! I don't run anything near a 28" bar . . . but with a 20" on it's definitely "miles of smiles". Al :clap::clap:

    Husky 346xp

    21LP .325 on a 16" bar. This combo is fantastic on my NE346 XP. I'm cutting primarily red oak and maple with some ash thrown in as well. Al :clap::clap:

    How long does it take you to split a cord....?

    Heck No Time at all!! I just merely fire up the Timberwolf and that sweet sound of the Honda powerplant brings all the Wood Gnomes out of the woodlot. Those little guys get the work done in no time!!!!:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange: HOWEVER if they're on vacation and I have to do it - -...
