    Around my neck of the wood cottonwood is one of the most undesireable wood . I do have probably have a cord of it stashed back for reserves . When it is green all it does is smolder and when it is fully seasoned it burns like cardboard . Its also a real pain to split by hand real stringy wood ...

    By goodness, unseasoned ash does burn well...

    Ive been burning quite a bit of green ash here lately my seasoned supply is about gone. Another nice thing about burning ash is it burns up clean, leaves very little ashes.

    That really isnt a bad idea and mount a 1x4 on each side :greenchainsaw: I am always overloading mine however not quite that extreme .
