    Red lever 026 slobbering oil

When my automatic oiler was puking oil on my 7-10 automatic, it was because I had an extra hole in the oil chamber. Make sure it's sealed up well Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    McCulloch 10-10 opinion

Hell yea! Love that video! What's the difference between 7-10 and 10-10? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    McCulloch 10-10 opinion

Looks newer than my late 60s 7-10 automatic. That thing was surpassing, as it started right up with some fresh fuel and a few pulls after sitting for years. It's a monster of a saw. Bulletproof metal construction and reliable internals. God only knows how many battles it's won. Sent from my...

    McCullouch 7-10 Automatic OVERoiling

So recently I popped the cover back off and backed the oil adjustment screw out some. Now I'm getting more oil to the bar, but not too much. Maybe not enough. Not sure how to tell, but I can see a little lubrication between the chain and guide. I pump it occassionally to give it more. I got a...

What saw you got that will always start

My McCulloch 7-10 automatic started up with some fresh fuel and a few yanks. God knows the last time it ran before it was given to me. My first real chainsaw! (Other was an electric from harbor freight) Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    McCullouch 7-10 Automatic OVERoiling

When I first tried the screw, it didn't do anything because the pump itself was dirty and seized up. After I removed and cleaned it, I had already added that vent. Recently I took out back apart to verify that I put it together correctly, adjusted the screw again and sealed up that vent, and...

    McCullouch 7-10 Automatic OVERoiling

I drilled the cap, right where into the "o" or "McCulouch" It's air tight now with a little brass plug. I haven't unwound the adjustment screw yet since coming up with this realization.

    McCullouch 7-10 Automatic OVERoiling

Update and possible resolution: I think I may know why it was overoiling. I spoke on the phone with a very knowlegeable chainsaw tech from Oregon about my oiling issue a while back. He said it's possible the system is just dry and needs oil forced into the pump to start working again. Said to...

    McCullouch 7-10 Automatic OVERoiling

I don't think I ever had the saw tilted, I was cutting a horizontal log. It is definitely driven off the crankcase. @vizette thanks for that thread! I think I do have the sleeve, though I'm not sure why it's called that. Can't imagine not having it, as that's what the adjuster bolt threads into...

    McCullouch 7-10 Automatic OVERoiling

Hello, I was recently gifted a old McCullouch 7-10 chainsaw. The thing is a testament to old school durability. It started up with just some fresh gas. I filled it with good 40:1 fresh pre-mix and new bar oil and it ran great. However, I quickly realized that the oiler system did not work...
