    Building another hotrod MS661C

If you're cutting 13 thou off the squish is it necessary to do the pop-up? I just don't see what you would gain from doing the pop-up as you still have 20thou clearance from the top of the piston to the squish band? Or is that 20 thou clearance where you want the cylinder to sit for port timing...

Our local saw shop is struggling so trying to support local! But yeah for sure 0.22 sounds a bit large haha.

    Husky 372XP X-torq using a 268xp piston?

I have looked it up, hence me saying my numbers aren't making sense to me given some of the other threads I've read. And that is why this thread exists. If you dont have any information or suggestions why bother commenting.

Is the 268xp piston only meant for pre xtorq saws?

    Husky 372XP X-torq using a 268xp piston?

Hey there, seem to find myself having some different numbers here that don't make a ton of sense to me.. Feel like I may be missing something. Just picked up a fresh 372xp and a 268xp piston to drop in it, when I measure my squish from with the stock piston i get .038 (which seems pretty good...

Sounds great, if its okay for me asking what did you end up with port timing numbers when you were finished up? Have an OEM 51.4 jug i measured up yesterday with these (102-E 79-I). Have an old 372xt chassis im going to put it on. Thanks

She’s alive and runs dam good! I’ll post up a video soon, thanks for the tips. Dug into the carb and found a small tear in one of the screens underneath the impulse line. Had me stumped as this carb ran great on the saw I pulled it off of.

Got around to setting up a degree wheel, ended up with these numbers. Intake: 83 Exhaust: 95. These seem outta control at all? took a few pictures of the cylinder, just from looking at it my intake port looks massively wider than my exhaust, would that make my intake duration too long and maybe...

@blsnelling have you ever come upon porting gone to far resulting in over fuelling? i understand there's many variables that you can't see, maybe ill pull the cylinder off and take some pics. also I have never done this before haha.

Unsuccessful with the timing key on the flywheel.. Seems to be my impulse line is seriously full of fuel, going to pressure/vaccum test the lines soon and see what happens.

    Ported 390xp Fuelling issue.

hey there, looking for some help with a saw. I put a new bottom end and jug & piston on a tired 390 I had, and while I was at it did some minor porting work to it. Case matched the transfers via the gasket and took some outta the exhaust and intake. Didn't go crazy by any means. Upon re-assembly...
