    firewood tractors

How much weight do you have in the front with this size log on the back. Looking at a set of 3pt forks at another auction.

    firewood tractors

Alright, I just bought a 4wd John Deere 750 compact tractor at an auction but come to find out it didn't have a front driveshaft assembly. Even without 4wd, I hope to put it to good use with a pair of bucket forks and some sort of rear carryall with ballast. I would like to eventually fix the...

    Runnin' Loads

Airbags were fully inflated and yes, I know I'm overweight. Most of this will be firewood going out this weekend, some was trash. Moved all of this by wheelbarrow or Arbor trolley up a wicked hill. Needless to say, my body can use a rest.

Add a winch to Bandit 250

Any update on successfully adding a winch to your chipper? I work by myself and completely exhausted myself on this past job when trying to pull my arbor trolley up a ridiculous hill with loads of brush or 20" diameter, 16" long ash rounds. I just bought a 3,500 lb badlands winch from harbor...

    Splitter Return Stop

I guess if you're just bumping the handle, it doesn't have to be as stout as some of the stuff I've seen online. I'll take some measurements tonight and see if I can come up with something out of the scrap wood I have laying around. I'll post pics and drawings/design if I can make it work.

    Splitter Return Stop

I run a 34-ton Champion splitter and it does everything I ask of it except that I cut all of my rounds to 16" and it would be really nice if the return only went back to say 18" to reduce the stroke time and allow me to be hands free for the entire return stroke. Right now, I typically stop it...

Are You Considering A Farmertec Saw?

I've only got one tank of 32:1 through a G660 with a 36" bar as I bought it mainly to take down large stumps at a few properties I'm servicing. I stopped when the chain got dull and daylight was short. Hopefully I'll run it a bit more in the near future and update this.

    Runnin' Loads

I run a 1/2 cord at a time to my customers. I added some air lift bags to help hold the weight so that I don't blind people when delivering at night. Cargo unloader works great!

Post pictures of your woodpile/splitting area

I use selling firewood as a means of getting rid of my wood that I take down throughout the year in my side gig. I usually work two evenings a week and then one day on the weekend so I had to come up with a way to light up the area so I could continue working. Found a fairly cheap LED light that...

    F-550 chip truck

Hi everyone, I'm looking to upgrade from my current setup (chipping into the back of my short bed F150) and go to a dump truck with a chip box (whether premade or a DIY). I came across this on Marketplace: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1313538638992227 It's an 95 F550 7.3L...

    Log Ox hauler?

It'll grab onto a lot larger logs than you can actually lift. And remember that you have to lift the round higher with the shoulders while using it. Sure saves the back though when doing firewood.

    Smoked ash cleanup efficiently?

I did exactly that on my estimate today with 5 smaller ash trees. I also requested the customer cut their grass before the work happens so the raking is a bit easier.

    Smoked ash cleanup efficiently?

Alright, as we all know, there are PLENTY of ash trees that are completely dead and brittle that need to be taken down. I'm not a climber so all of my falls are the whole trees with no lowering nice and slow. This means that when the trees hit the ground, they explode into millions of pieces...

Whisper Chipper and dead wood advice

Hi all, I have an old-school JEY that absolutely eats wood but I ran into an issue last night when I was chipping up the majority of a large, very dead, dogwood. The branches were so brittle that when they got sucked into the feed, a lot of pieces would break off and fly everywhere. I spent more...

    Asplundh Whisper Chipper

I'll try to take a picture of mine this weekend. You're also missing the directional part of the chute. Be careful when chipping with it the way it is because it'll throw chips a LONG way! I didn't adjust mine the first time I used it and threw them way over my truck.

Is the F550 chip truck still available? If so, how much and where are you?

    Limb Snap/Curbcards App?

Good morning everyone. I'm trying to grow my side tree removal business and came across Limb Snap (which was recently absorbed into Curbcards). It's a hyper-focused marketing campaign where you take a picture of a tree (or storm damage) that needs removal and the app creates a postcard that gets...
