    Walbro WJ48 Kit ?

I'm restoring a Stihl 066 and need a kit for a Walbro WJ48 carb. For those of you who have and sell these kits, please send me a private message with price and shipping. If you have them, I may be interested in other miscellaneous 066 parts. Thanks

    Any MS 361's left?

Ms 361 They are not gone in SW Washington yet. I bought one 3 weeks ago for $589.95 before tax with 25" ES Bar and chain. Some local Stihl dealers had one or two left, and Madsens had at least 4 left.

    Oil Seal suppliers?

RE: Oil Seal Suppliers Bantasaw.com is the only place that I have found on-line to buy oil seals. They are located in Warkworth, Ontario, Canada. The complete gasket kits include the oil seals. They have saved me the hassle and extra expense of ordering these items from the dealer on more...

    Question on 028 diagnosis...crank seals

I disagree with this statement below. No disrespect intended. It's simply wrong and some of us have learned it the hard way. >>Bogging down is not a typical symptom of crank seals. I am working on a 028 AV Super that is suffering from this exact problem right now and this is after cylinder...

028 WB side access chain tentioner

Hello, Does anyone have the part numbers/descriptions handy for converting a 028 AV Super to the side chain (bar cover) tensioner type? What parts exactly are needed? I'm wondering about the thin metal plate that mounts to the crank case, does this need to be changed or can you use...

    HELP.....STIHL 028av chain sprocket

I called Baily's today and confirmed that it does include these other parts and yes I agree that is a fair price. I know from experience that most Stihl parts are quite spendy and I'm not at all surprised at the $80 price tag these others have paid their Stihl dealer for the rim conversion...

    HELP.....STIHL 028av chain sprocket

Hello, Can you tell me what drives the 028 oiler worm gear on this Oregon rim kit? Is it a special gear that fits the spline on the clutch drum? I thought I had what I needed to make this conversion but apparently not. I bought what was claimed to be the complete conversion kit on Ebay...

    Ignition Problem - MS 210

Well, it's fixed. I tore it down far enough to get a resistance reading on the coil. It was 11K ohms which is in spec. The plug boot spring was not conducting so I re-punctured the coil lead wire with the hook end of the plug boot spring on the opposite side of the lead wire. It fired right up...

    Ignition Problem - MS 210

Hi Chainsaw fans, I have not posted in a while and hope I can get some feedback on a new situation: MS 210 - 34 days out of warranty. No Spark This is an all of a sudden thing. Before I suspect the coil, I want to exhaust the options. So far I have done the following: 1. Checked...

    Leaf blower specs

BG 55 vs BG85 Thanks for bringing the up. Unless some the Stihl experts here can honestly dispell the myth, It does certainly appear that Stihl is engaging a stump the consumer marketing folly on this one. Or, maybe these mods to the 85 are worth the added $100-$150? >>85 has slightly larger...

    Protective inside leg pads

In considering chaps alternatives lately I decided to try the Labonville pants with the pad inserts. There are two snaps at the top of the pad that attach to the pants and the lower pad fits into pocket sleaves inside. The polyester pants stretch and when you hold them up to light you can...

    028 WB Chain Brake

Yes you describe exactly how my 028 Woodboss was when I got it. Pes+ describes what sounds like an even older version that has no spring relief area on the oil pump cover. Mine is fixed now but there is currently an Ebay listing ending in 3 days showing the exact parts that were required for...

    028 WB oil pumps

I have noticed that the later? oil pumps on the 028 AV and AV Super's have white plastic end caps on them. These plastic caps fit very loosely. Are they supposed to be that loose or is it better to fit a rubber O ring around the cap to help snug them up in their mount? Sorry, I don't mean to...

    028 WB Chain Brake

Hello, I doubt it's broken but rather came that way when it was new as the brake feature was optional for the early years of the 028 Woodboss. The only way you can tell from the outside is if you can see two screws next to each other where the handle meets the saw on the bar cover side of the...

    Stihl 028AV Coil Question

Hi, Yes you really should either re-post this thread to the Chainsaw part of the AS forum as you will get many more responses or just search that forum on 028. Everything you need to know is there already. The 028 happens to be one of the most loved Stihl models and is worth keeping in most...

Replacing a Stihl ES Bar Nose

Well this all worked out good. The bar nose is on and the newly whacked rivets are flat, done with a 3lb hammer. I will be going to Madsen's for bar rail truing/grinding, a new sprocket and some chains. Thanks all!

Replacing a Stihl ES Bar Nose

Okay, does that mean that once the new nose is installed with new rivets that the bar is put on the bench grinder to smooth any differences in the bar/nose transition? I'm guessing here. Since this bar has had a good amount of wear, I am expecting that the new nose tip will be slightly wider...

Replacing a Stihl ES Bar Nose

Stihl ES Bar Tip Thanks everyone for your responses. I tried earlier with a punch on the anvil side of the bench vise and the rivets do not move. The rivets both look equally sized to me and flat on both sides of the bar. I got one of them out by drilling it. Two left to do. I center punched a...
