    1985 ford f600 bucket/chipbox project

I had and early 80's ford bucket truck. I kept having problems with the solenoids. I spent more time working on the truck than working in the bucket. I learned from that truck that I prefer trucks that have manual valves instead of electric switches.

    Buck Parlor Heater

My in laws have had this old stove in storage for over 30 years. They put it in a sale today and I couldn't let it go and purchased it for $175. I don't know what I'm going to do with it but some day I will put it in use. It has the shaker grates and the handle so I just need to replace some...

    Ashley NCA1 Woodstove

Thanks for your reply. The two concerns I have is will this thing ever generate any real heat and how will I ever be able to open the door with out massive amounts of smoke belching out. I also wonder if it would need a damper or not. Can't imagine it would ever draw enough draft to need to...

    Ashley NCA1 Woodstove

Have any of you guys had any luck with one of these stoves. All the stoves I have had were older than this one and they would draft directly from the fire box to the chimney. This one looks like the smoke is pulled toward the glass then pulled into the top of the stove which has another...

    Fisher Stove

Thanks for all the info. Especially those links. In the next couple of years I want to build a shop. On a vacant lot down the street. I think I will find some place to store it for now and when the time comes I will have it. It never hurts to have a good stove stuck back somewhere and I...

    Fisher Stove

Do you weld it right underneath the opening in the back of the stove where the chimney connects?

    Fisher Stove

I'm not real sure what I'm even going to do with it. I have a Hot Blast wood furnace in my basement and if I put it in my garage I won't have room to park my truck inside. I may put 6 foot of chimeny pipe on it and put it out on our patio. I will call it my redneck fire pit. I think it...

    Fisher Stove

I haven't logged into this site in years. Glad to see you guys are still here. I was out at the local recycling center today. I saw this old fisher wood stove setting there that someone hauled in and sold as scrap metal. I asked the owner of the recycling center what it would cost and he...

    U.S. Stove Company

Hot Blast 1400 Its been a long time since I've seen this thread. I still burn my Hot Blast 1400 but the last couple of years I've only burned about 5 cords or 10 rik/face cords. When I first got my stove I lit that thing first sign of cool weather and it didn't shut off until I burned...

    No Draft and 0 outside

I think what caused mine to shut off what seems like over night was that we had a front come through and we had a wet south breeze. Since it was night time I had it dampered down for a long burn time so it was smoking more so than it would have durning the day. Either way I removed the screen...

    No Draft and 0 outside

Fixed It wasn't easy but I held the ladder as my little brother scaled the second level. I tried but just didn't have the guts. Because I keep falling off roofs I have developed a hightend state of fear. We kept having problems with birds in the summer getting into the chimney so they...

    No Draft and 0 outside

I'm not courages or experianced enough to try the rop trick. My brother came by last night and we removed some snow from the back porch roof so it will dry quicker. We need to put a ladder on the back porch roof to get up to the second story roof. I could tell he was thinking about the rope...

Ideas on why people won't buy ash/hackberry firewood?

I would tell them that ash and hackberry have a nice aroma to them as they burn and they go great with a merlot. I would also mention that if you load the stove with no shirt on it won't shoot sparks out and burn your chest or your bear skin rug.

    No Draft and 0 outside

did you try cracking open a window down there to help depressurize the house I opened the door to the basement but know luck. It was a good place to start. I agree with the no screens. I get a bird in the basement every now and then but I just open the window and let it out.

don't be a dumbazz like me......

Been there done that. A couple years ago we left for the day to have Christmas at a relatives. We walked out the door carrying presents and it didn't get it shut. Came home that night and the back door was wide open. My fire had burned down in my wood furnace and I was heating the great...

    No Draft and 0 outside

When I painted the house I bought a bucket truck and kept it for 1 1/2 years. I couldn't reach all he high places so I borrowed a 4x4 Genie lift. It was awesome!! I could reach everything and it was stable. The only problem I had is that it was so heavy it would crack sidewalks and all the...
