    Stoneland I contacted new england rope and talked to steve the technical advisor. He talked to the in house arborists so they are aware of some problems. I don'tknow if they will tell purchasers to work the rope first and break it in or not. Thanks for the advice on one more turn

    racerx I did come across another post on another site that experienced a binding problem but he weighed over 300 lbs. I 'm about 200 and have used the blake before and never had a problem. I will experiment with other means of ascending now.

    Small wood I did the footlock to no avail. I used the phillips end but you are right I should not have dug anything in there. Once the hitch loosend everything was fine. I thought it might have been because it was a new rope.

    reply to lone wolf Turned out the drum and sprocket were worn. I got another that was in better shape while I wait to buy a new one. I've been working on milling technique now. I also bought a new bar. The logosol timber jig takes some getting used to but each board comes out better.

    Thanks all I took the rings off and inserted one in the cylinder. There is no end gap. Thanks for the advice. I'll cut them like you suggested unless the ebay guy sends me some new ones.

    Installin rings and they will not fit back into the cylinder. I have changed rings before but I am a novice. I bought the rings and piston off ebay. I have bought from this seller before and did not have a problem. I know the rings should be tight and I oiled the cylinder but these are really tight.
