    metal detector question

A couple of years back I got about 12 timbers that had been buried in a creek. They were from a grist mill that collapsed into the creek in the early 1900's. The mill was built around 1880. Guy asked me to mill the wood so they could build tables for the family farm out of it. Of course it was...

    Cherry Milling

Cherry is my favorite wood to work with. I milled mine just like you are doing. It makes for some beautiful finished stuff. Made my wife and daughters a jewelry chest with nothing but the cherry I milled.... From milled wood to finished product.

Just a comment on the new gas cans...

Hit a nerve on this topic. I've got about 8 different styles of cans. Mostly 5 gals. None are worth a darn. The "can" (plastic) is ok. It's the spouts that are crap!!! Most have different thread sizes and replacement spouts are junk. Sounds like "no-spill" cans might be a possibility...

    Second milling(Camphor)

danieltree, where are you located in Covington. I'm in Covington too. Where did you get the camphor log. I've never seen one around here unless it goes by another name? Cherry is my all time favorite wood. Always on the lookout for some. It's just a hobby for me though. And, geaux Saints.

Electric chain sharpener for milling chain

For the money, you can't beat this: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93213 But you have to take the chain off the saw to sharpen. If you're like me I have lots of extra chains. I may sharpen a bunch at a time. This sharpens better then the local shop that...
