    Husqvarna vs Stihl

There is no doubt about that. I have owned several of those series, both OE and XT. None were anywhere near as bad as that one was about rattling screws loose.

    Husqvarna vs Stihl

You are correct on the better air filtration and antivibe. I've seen the subject of the 3 series rattling fasteners out brought up several times here over the years by respected members and machining was mentioned multiple times. I bought a new 372xt several years ago, you literally could not...

    Husqvarna vs Stihl

They may have been "antiquated" as you say but they ran and didn't require going over the saws religiously to make sure screws weren't loose or didn't fall out. The 3 series huskys were good runners but had piss poor machining on the hardware other than the p&c.

    462 or 572?

I fondled both a 572 and 462 when I caught the fever and was wanting a new saw. I personally liked the feel of the 462 and bought one. I don't know which is faster, for farm use like I do it doesn't really matter. I'd buy the one that feels best in your hands and don't look back. Both are dang...

So what do you guys think about your first autotune or mtronic saw after you have ran regular carbs for years??

Personally I like the Mtronic/autotune saws. With the exception of a little firewood duty, my saws are used for storm cleanup and dead tree removal around the farm. I even have a nearly 10 yr old jonsered, 2253 if my memory serves me correctly. It has had no updates, no hot or cold start...

Echo CS 501P vs Stihl MS 260

They are really surprising saws. No they aren't the latest and greatest technology wise but they do run well. Mine won't outcut my 261 but it isn't far behind. It feels noticeably lighter, the vibes are minimal and it does oil well, very well actually and it is torquey for a 50cc saw.

Echo CS 501P vs Stihl MS 260

501p's are good runners. I bought one a couple of years ago to flip but the dang thing is so light and handles so well I haven't been able to bring myself to part with it. I run a 462c and 261c primarily on the farm but the 501 has its place. It's just a light weight nimble saw that runs out...

What is your favorite chainsaw of all time?

I'm in the same boat. Only difference is I went with the 462. Those older saws are as dependable as gravity and good runners for sure. They just make my fingers and wrist hurt now.

    Sold Stihl 026

I can't remember exactly when he bought it, it is older than yours though. I think it is an early 90s model. It is a metal tag with an adjustable oiler, and loud muffler. I got married in 1990 and i think he replaced his 028 with this about the time or shortly after I got married.

They are good saws. Simple to work on and dependable as gravity.

    Sold Stihl 026

It's not really a power thing, it's the vibes. Its actually pretty strong as is, one of the good early ones. If it didn't kill my wrists I would never part with it, but it might have had 1 tankfull through it since 2014. The newer spring av saws are just alot easier on me to run.

    Sold Stihl 026

Yeah I'm kinda torn on selling it. I've held onto it since he passed in 2014. I inherited a ton of tools, tractors and farm equipment from him and this is the only thing I don't use. I have kept everything else. I have some nerve damage in my wrists and it just hurts to use it. The newer saws...

    Sold Stihl 026

I hate to sell this saw, but it just never gets used. It belonged to my Dad, he bought it new. It has never been used much, the concrete floor in his basement did more to hurt the paint than use did. The bar is the one that came on it new. Other than a carb rebuild in 2012 it has never had a...

I appreciate the inquiry, the saw actually sold shortly after I listed it. Thanks to everyone for all the interest.

    Sold Makita 6401

I had planned to turn this into a 7900 but with a 461 and 440 I just don't need it, and I doubt I would ever get around to messing with it anyway. When I bought it it was slightly scored, I had a decent 6401 p&c here and put it on the saw. It will run and the compression feels good, it does...

    Sold Echo CS500p

I am really glad it went quickly before I changed my mind. I have been going back and forth over selling it for a good while. They are well built saws, I just don't use it enough to justify keeping it.

    Sold Echo CS500p

Saw is in really nice shape, I bought it last year locally and it looked like it might have been used once. I have put maybe a dozen tankfulls through it. It has a few scuffs and scratches typical of a used saw. I removed the pipe from the muffler, opened the outlet a little and trimmed the...
