Worked on the saw some more last night. I'm going to cut the squish and base and throw in a New piston and rings. Going for 102-103 Ex 117-118 Transfers 75 or so Intake. Should make a nice runing saw.

    Metal tag 026

So I had a few minutes to dig deeper. It pulled 150 psi. And found scoring on the piston. From what I can see the cylinder looks ok. Tomorrow I plan on degreeing the saw and tearing it down the rest of the way.

    Metal tag 026

A kind and generous older man told me he had a chainsaw for me so I went and picked it up and this is what I found. He wouldn't take anything at all for. He's the type of person I was offending him by offering money.

    Thank you Tree Monkey

This is not exactly what I'm talking about, but shows the concept. I grind bolt heads or screwheads in a Camloop shape often to move things very small increments.

    Thank you Tree Monkey

Not necessarily thinking of different bore sizes, but more of just real fine adjustment. That's a hard hole to drill just right. That's why I think if you made the bolt head shap a little bit of a cam lobe then you could fine-tune then final tighten everything.

    Thank you Tree Monkey

Very good thread! I plan on doing something similar myself after reading this. Could you not grind the screw/bolt head (yellow) so it will cam the file in and out as needed also?

Make sure that you have reassembled the carburetor correctly. It's easy to get things in backwards or upside down.
