New Fiskar's SS with long handle

If I had a choice when I bought mine two years ago, no doubt I would have got the longer handle. Fast forward, short handle is the way to go.

I guess my woodpile friend has to go.

I didn't say to never kill an animal. If an animal encroaches too close to your home, you have to what you have to do. However, I think that "life" is such a miracle that I am not quick to snatch it from anything that was given that gift. I chase away and relocate animals whenever possible...

I guess my woodpile friend has to go.

There is no such thing as a "simple pest". That's a term to minimize and disassociate yourself from your actions. These are animals that have real lives. I have reverence for all living things and will not even kill an insect without a reason. I find living in this manner enhances my own...

Gave away a truck load of wood today

I'm going to start giving better tips to the pizza delivery guy.

I guess my woodpile friend has to go.

I can never understand why anyone would kill an animal when it's possible to set it free somewhere that it won't disturb anyone.

    Leveraxe

Leveaxe lives on. Leveraxe is en route to it's new home. Jensent will be in possession as the next axe tester. Thank you Mr. Finland for letting me the try your Leveaxe. It's a s great axe. I enjoyed using it. However, as has been said over and over again, it's much too expensive. You claim...

    Stranger in the garage!

Yeah, sometimes critters need killin. But guys that need to continually make celebratory comments about killing an animal on a firewood forum must not be very high on the food chain either.

    Stranger in the garage!

Be a real man and take him for a drive and set him free. No need to kill him.

    Should I take them down?

I was hoping for some votes to keep the pines, but you guys are helping a lot. There's a part of me that feels it's criminal to cut a truly majestic tree unless it's absolutely necessary. I call the main tree Papa Bear. It's grand. I'll post some pics to put things in perspective.

    Should I take them down?

Three giant pines next to my house. One tree, in particular, is a real monster. Unfortunately, it sapping all over my new metal roof. They look strong, but if any of them fall on my house, it's all over for whoever's inside, and I'll need a new house What stops me is that these trees must be at...

    Brothers,,you have to love 'EM

My brother is three years older than me and I always looked up to him when we were growing up. Now, he's the last person I'd ask for a favor. If it involves work or he has to go out of his way at all he wants no part of it. Kinda sucks. I still love him but, as you guys said, brothers should...

    Got my Fixkars yesterday

How do you sharpen your Fiskars? What do you guys use to repair the cutting edge. I bought the Fiskars blade sharpener, but that really doesn't "cut" it. My blades beat up from a couple of seasons of use and the other day I hit a wedge to make it worse.

    Got my Fixkars yesterday

That's the way I do it, both hands on the end of the handle. But I have more of a batter's stance and roundhouse it.

    Got my Fixkars yesterday

Do you keep both hands positioned at the end of the handle?

    Got my Fixkars yesterday

That makes sense but it's not the case. The Fiskars cuts wood like butter. The first time you use it, it's like "Whoe!, what just happened?" Once I got my Fiskars my splitting maul found a comfortable corner in the back of my shed to take retirement. It's either the Fiskars, or my maul and wedges.

    Got my Fixkars yesterday

I hold both hands at the end of the handle and swing it like a baseball bat into the wood.

    Leveraxe

It's a good axe. I like it. Let me know when the price drops 90% and I'll consider buying it.

    Leveraxe

Not-missing Leveraxe Cool your armpits. I got the Leveraxe. Where do you want me to send it next?
