    frozen piston

you can try putting penitrating oil in through the spark plug hole. then take a star tire wrench,(not sure which size fits) put it on the clutch side like your trying to take the clutch off. rock the star wrench back and forth. dont put too much pressure into it or you might bend or break...

    saw not cutting straight...Why???

hey digicomer, in my experience the initial problem is the chain not sharpened the same on right and left side. but when the saw starts cutting half moons then the problem is what the chain did to the bar. take your bar off, chain off the bar then look down the bar groove, if one of the rails is...

hope it goes well, but if that doesn't work, you can try dropping it handle down from a tree. that usually gets at least half of the handle off. snowdog

    file plate?

let the file guild lay flat on the tooth, it shouldn't be touching the rakers (aka the depth guage). that is for the standard filing. the most important part is to stay consistant with all the teeth. other wise you'll start wondering to the right or left.

    another old 045AV

so Andy, if you started making the pullers would you drill out all the holes for all the saw models? i'm sure people would buy them. i probably would. i guess i'll have to do some red neck engineering until then. thanks for all the help. Oh one more question for you can you replace the cut off...

    Western Forest Fire Forcast Release

hey smokechaser, what makes this fire fighter happy is small fires in the timber, rather then the hot desert BLM fires. don't get me wrong i like desert fires too, fast pace, lots of action, and minimal mop up. awh what the hell send me anywhere, i sleep better in the dirt then on a mattress.

    another old 045AV

Well the CAD is in full force. I just picked up an old 045 AV. how old you ask, i don't know but it doesn't even have the name plate, but rather die cast into the cover and an electronic sticker on the side. I started to tear it down. the guy i purchased it from said that it quit running and...
