Do the two washers (spacers?) go on the crank first, then the bearing, then the clutch and the nut? They seemed to fit in the recess in the spur.

Was this a chronic problem with the paper gaskets, or only in certain circumstances? I read that some of the problems came when running bars 24" or longer.

I finally got around to putting the 79cc piston/cylinder on my HD Makita. I was checking some old threads about this conversion and noticed that my kit came with the old style gasket, rather than the updated metal one. Is there any reason to take it back apart and get the metal one? Just...

Around here they usually go somewhere in the $100-150 range. Some may think this is a little high for a 30 yr old saw, but there are a lot of firewood cutters around here and most people like a saw that is close to bullet proof and reliable.
