and unemployment in maine is bare minimum, my father a commercial electrician with almost a years worth of unemployment because of no union work is barely scraping by. So before too many people go on ranting about how people on unemployment are selfish and this and that you should see just how...

    more skidder mods

a friend of mine from waterford me has a little JD 440 that has a backhoe attached on the back. It has quick connect hydraulic lines and mounts by the way of a few drop in pins, it only takes a few moments to put on and take off. Its pretty handy.

    Fire Department Chainsaw

Recently my department purchased 2 new saws. We purchased a 460 rescue saw (a sheer beauty!) and a smaller MS390 for cutting trees/ice/ and other stuff we might run into (thats wood). We had a late last year where our saws were on our engine, but the tanker was running water supply miles away...

    Mutant Alien Lobster

I do have a pair similar (husky) in the actual glove form and although they do have kevlar in them i doubt it would save your hand. There is very little actual protective material in them, if a saw will cut through six layers of chaps i doubt that the two or three layers in the gloves would do...

    Harvester vs. Feller Buncher?

Feller buncher: usually has a large circular saw around here (Maine) or a hydraulic shear and cuts trees off and lays them down tree length in bunches to be picked up behind a grapple skidder. Harvester: has a head that grabs onto the tree has a hydraulic chainsaw that swings out cuts the tree...

    de compresion button

Those auto decomp systems are neat, untill they stop working. I had one on my older 357, but the thing wouldent close. So my dealer plugged it up and its never bothered. The 357 is small enough not to even need one anyways. But i am sure glad that my ms460 has one, it makes starting that much...

Stihl 064 Oily Wet Clutch Drum

my saws get gunked up too after a few minutes of cutting. The saw chips arent really dry either, they are covered in pitch and water. Plus you have alot of bar oil thats on them from the bar. Its pretty normal to have this area get very gunked up very quickly because thats the area thats coming...

i bought a pack of files the other day for 10 bucks, but i got 15 of them.....the files cut pretty good too, and they have lasted longer than the stihl file that came with the kit. I wont go around saying they are better but for what i paid its well worth it. plus im going to have that box...
