Where's WYK been, and what trouble is he making?

Maruyama make excellent trimmers and cutters. Very reasonably priced as well. It might be heresy but I would consider an electric one next time I’m looking to replace one of mine. I want to wait a while though to see how the market develops before going all in.

    Check your ear muffs...

Good earmuffs have hygiene kits that you replace on a regular 1-2 yr basis. This keeps the muffs clean and also function better because the seal to your dome is better because the material is pliable. Most of the seals harden over time from exposure to the oils on your skin and when they are...

    Advice on falling dead Pine

Looks like there was still some half reasonable hinge wood there, seems to have pulled some good sized fibres out Congrats on the successful falling. Always a good feeling when things come off well.

How a'm I getting my 2 stroke mix so wrong?

Is it a 1 litre bottle? For 40:1 you need 40 litres petrol to 1 litre of oil, 20 litres of petrol to 500ml oil, 10 litres petrol to 250ml oil, 5 litres petrol 125ml oil 1 litre to 25ml oil. I would mix 1 litre minimum as less than that the ratios get less precise as you are dealing with surface...

    Russian Olive worth saving?

Is that not classed as an invasive species in Canada? I know it has been added to that list in the US.

    Hand filing is for beginners?

Archer may be an Australian brand but the chain is made in China, I watched a Youtube video of the factory in China knocking out links and making it up. Looked to have decent QC and testing facilities.

    Hand filing is for beginners?

There has been a lot of chain makers enter the market in the last 10 years, I can't count how many different brands there are now on offer. That said I am sure that like everything there are good and bad manufacturers and QC plays a part. Its also a good thing that you can buy a good chain to...

    Hand filing is for beginners?

Both I suspect, Stihl chain was always a little harder on files than Oregon but maybe the new Husky C85 is harder?

I've seen concrete guys sharpen a chain with a con saw! :omg:

    Hand filing is for beginners?

Like most stuff files have got cheaper and worse quality as time has passed, I have a cheap grinder and as supplied its not great, however if you have the time and knowledge to dress the wheel to the correct angles, and know how to gently grind the teeth then the grinder does a very good and...

    Sold .404 and 3/8 chain

Do you know what postage would be to Ireland for 4 x 92dl loops of 3/8 .058? I have a mail forwarding service in the US if that is easier/cheaper.

Stihl String Trimmer - FS-KM - Lose Nylon Lines Back into Mowing Head

Are the eyelets still in place and not sharp? Trimmer line gone brittle? Try some fresh stuff or soak the line in water for 24 hrs and try it then. Also trimming close to wire and hard surfaces will wear the line down quickly even snapping it.

    From a ms211 to a 070, what now?

I wonder if it is possible to get a piece of angled pipe that would thread into the oil and petrol tanks to make filling them in the horizontal position possible? If it sealed with a cap then it would also act as additional tank volume.

    2511t mods

I'd say ship it to the Saw King in Myrtle Creek. He has done a few that were on Youtube and they look like a mean little saw.

    Oil Question

Of course you have to allow for the meniscus effect if you are measuring the oil into a container before adding it to the fuel.

    The best plant stakes!

I planted some bamboo a few years back and that stuff is excellent for plant stakes, I just cut what I need to size and use some plastic coated plant wire tied with safety wire pliers to secure it. You can make virtually any size and shape of structure you need to with it and its free!
