Finally got to cut some more wood..

Been a busy summer and haven't gotten to cut as much as I had wanted to. Finally the other weekend I got to go out and even got the wife and kids to help. We spent most of the afternoon cutting-splitting-loading and unloading it. I am hoping to get out about twice more cuz unless the farmers...

    Finally after all these years....

I know what ya mean but lucky for me I have a good friend that has several attatchments and unless he is using them I can usually borrow them for a day or two. I have my eye on a Longford machine tree saw but that will have to wait a yr or so. BTW a Longford saw is a hyd driven 24" carbide...

    Finally after all these years....

I did some checking on the tracks before I bought it and :dizzy: they are plenty expensive for sure. A friend of mine has an S-300 and it has tires with the grouser tracks on it. In comparison to this one by the time you figure the cost of the tires, possibly having them filled and the tracks...

    Finally after all these years....

It is really nice to have that. Really makes it nice in the extreme heat or cold.

    Finally after all these years....

I got to drive my first skid steer nearly 30 yrs ago and I promised myself that someday I would own one. Finally that someday came.... Now all I need is to get some more attatchments to make it more usefull... I did get a bucket and a set of forks with it but need to get a grapple...

    new attachment

Here is my favorite grapple. I have ran one ("84") of these on a T-190 and an S-300 bobcat and both handled it well. http://www.dymaxattachments.com/attachments/catalog/index.html Click on grapple rake It handles about anything it can get ahold of. We have bent the end of one tine but...

    wood/OWB shed options

Here is a shed that we have 3 of them. http://www.gmlsindustries.com/buildings/2200.php One is 24x24 with a 9x18 door, 2 is 24x24 with a 10x18 door , 3 is a 24x48 with a 13x18 door in it. The neat part is that last I knew you could build them and then if you decided later on you could take the...

Hotblast cold air return 1557 or 1537G

Mine is just a box that is made of galvanized tin. Yes it just simply is assembled and screwed to the back of the stove down on the bottom over the top of the fan. I bought mine but if you have someone around that is handy with a sheet metal brake I would think you could make one easily enough.

    US Stove 1537G Improvements. Newbie?

:agree2: This is the way I run mine and it gives me similar burn times with most any wood. I burn Hackberry, oak, ash, red elm, mulberry and a little hedge. My house is a little over 4000 sq ft and when it get's down near 0 I have to lean on it but I can still get 4-6 hrs. For what I have...

Hotblast cold air return 1557 or 1537G

Mine Measures about 24 1/8 " wide x 16 1/8 tall. It is 16 1/4 deep with an additional 1 inch flange on the back for the duct to mount to. Mine is about 25 inches from the chimney and I just am drawing air from the basement. I wanted to try it that way and it worked fine so I just left it. I may...

    Log Splitter-What do we NEED?

My first thought would be that going together with someone on a piece of equipment is not the best deal. I prefer to own or let someone else own and trade labor or actual money to rent it. My second thought would be to look around for a place to rent one. Now I realize you aren't big on...

    wood trailer for ATV

3,000 lbs STOP... Hang ON.... That is like 3 times the average towing limits of most ATV's and the trailer doesn't have brakes. Being around the farm for my 38 yrs I have made the mistake of overloading a few tow units (tractors, trucks and ATV's). I have taken a couple wild rides with trailers...

    Wood Heating Do's and Don'ts

I have been reading about all the splitter, stoves and saws that have been sold lately. Got me to thinking that the next big thing that the rest of us will have to deal with is inexperienced folks causing a ruckus in neighbor hoods that will lead to more ordinances and laws that we really don't...

    7 cords so far

Doing Ok I guess.. I have been cleaning up and am way ahead of last year. I think I should have enough now for at least next yr and part of the following. If I have it figured up right between the two cribs I should have 10-12 cords so far. Had a wind storm over the weekend and it roughed up a...

    Stove electric power?

I should've included that the stove I have is a US Stoves Model 1557m and it has two fans that the motors are 120volt, 1/15hp, 2.6amp, 60Hz, and 1550rpm. I had a thought that I might try to build it as a small trailer that way it would be easily portable and yet be able to keep all the parts...

    Stove electric power?

I have been thinking it would be great to be able to be able to use solar power for my wood furnace. I know little about solar power(voltages and conversions ect). I want to build a system that can be made portable so it can be used for my stove in the winter and then power a couple other things...

    Carbide Chains

I can honestly say I have been there and done that and it is a waste of money. I got a loop for my 44 and cut a couple days in cedars in the pasture and hmmm guess what it got dull. To top that off I found a couple rocks and it knocked off some of the cutters. Long story short it cost me dearly...
