    Efco

Can someone supply me with the Efco home page address. I have not communicated with them since they and Tilton fell out.

    Stihl 015L

Classic exercise in futility, those out of date high vibration little suckers will put your hands to sleep. They make good 100 yard rifle targets. Just an attempt at humor, no insult intended (don't take me too seriously). I know many enjoy bringing out of date stuff back to life, I'm just...

    McCulloch

Glad you have a good sense of humor. Free is about what that old stuff is worth, but I would try for a fee for carrying it away.

    Husky Logic

Thats right they have pretty well used over the 400 series. Not a first, the model A came after the model T, that didn't seem to bother anyone.

    McCulloch

Digging up bone again, ah. Chainsaw archeology.

    Which saw to get?

The R55 or the 350 will both do what you want very well. I would ignore the bias toward Stihl. They are living on their past reputation, and it is catching up with them.

    McCullogh pm 610

All 610s I ever seen had 3/8ths by .050 chain. The saws ran pretty good for that price/class of saw, and they were fairly reliable. The negative is, they were boxy and did not have very good handling qualities.

    Full Chisel vs. Semi Chisel

On cutter sequence, there is regular, semi skip and full skip. (1, 2, or 3 blank sidestrap locations between cutters.) Chipper isn't encountered much on hand held saws these days, except if you are an old saw buff. It came from the low speed high torque days of chainsaws. It takes more HP to...

    Saw comparisons

    Good choice.

    Dead Stihl 041AV

Heck, I was going to recommend that you let it rest in peace, and get something more modern. LOL

    chain off bar

Boy, milling is a rough application for chainsaws in the first place, why would you want to handicap yourself with a hardnose bar? I agree with Rocky.

    Saw Does NOt Cut Straight

I have found that bar rail closers do not work well. You cannot restore the inner walls of the rails to parallel. When the bars get bad enough to need closing, it is asually time for a new bar. Unfortunately (much of the time)when crooked cutting occurs, the problem has gone beyond a simple...

How many languages do you speak, you being from Sweden and then bringing up French somewhere along the line made me curious?

    Sandvik bars

I was getting Sandvik bars along about 82, but I believe they were combined with another of the big brand names. I don't remember who. Used to get Sandvik files, bars, and I believe chain. Seems like they may have been connected with the Homelite fatal illness, but that may be wrong, it is way...

    359/956/290 Help Deciding

359 - 956 In that order. The 962 is built on the same size platform as the 956, thus better power to weight. I have no experience with the 290.

    Collectors

I will answer your question; all new model Jonsered, Solo and Efco. (25 or 30, somewhere in that ballpark)

    266xp bar length

I run 40 to 1 even when 50 to 1 is recommended. I rarely run across a fellow that runs his saw light duty. Most of them can use a little extra lube, regardless of what EPA say.

    Collectors

Mange, now I get it, your interest is in collecting, not dealing new saws. To each his own. Good luck and enjoyment.

    loops and chain grinders

    1. No, for most people, particularly if you got a local shop that will make them up for you and not rob you. 2. Maxx grinder from Jeff Sekima (not sure of spelling of last name)

    266xp bar length

A 266 does not have enough power for a professional level of performance with 24 inches of bar in hardwood. But, if your expectations are not too great, go ahead. I would recommend staying with a 20".
