Inside the MS462C - Snellerized Style

Might want to check your calculations. The weight showed in the picture, 13lbs 4.6oz (13.2875lbs) is 6.027kg. 6.5kg would work out to 14.33lbs. A 572 at 6.6kg would be .573kg or 20.2oz heavier.

    MS241 Chain Brake Adjustment?

On most stihls there won't be enough room to leave your hand on the top handle and release the chain brake with your other hand. Not really any adjustments and if you modify the mechanism it may cause problems with it actually engaging correctly should you encounter a kickback that should/would...

    High Tops and filter kits

I personally think it would be awesome to be able to have a factory looking high top/HD filter on my jonsereds. I've always thought the 2171/2188 saws should have had a HD filter option like the 372/390 husky saws do.

Give it to me straight on ported saws 346xp DD

I have been using my DD 346 for 3 or 4 years now with no issues. The only logical solution here, is to get him to port the 372 as well, that way they share the use again.

Stihl 024 (Super) Meteor Piston Issue

Not trying to ruffle any feathers but youll need another new piston if you run that saw with that dirty bottom end. I'd either split it and put new bearings in or forget even rebuilding it. At very least flush the case out and see how the bearings feel. There was a lot of metal moving around...

Sold No longer for sale. Holy Grail! NIB Dan Henry Ported 346XP NE

I still have it. It's funny you asked about the muffler. Kris (wagnerwerks) and I were just talking about this at the last pa gtg. All my dozer Dan saws have the twin slash cut pipes. All of his were done with holes added through the muffler brackets. Idk when he switched over but I have 4 saws...

My old man would take the saw outside and cut away without any safety equipment

I definitely get a little complacent when fully geared up, whether its riding motorcycles, cutting wood or anything really. My typical firewood cutting gear consists of blue jeans, t-shirt, Safety toe 8" work boots and a ball cap. I always have ear muffs or plugs in, and gloves. My pap was deaf...

    461 vs 372XT vs 576XT vs 7910

Pick whichever one feels right in your hands. I've owned all of the saws in question except the 7910. I had a 7900. Even the 385/390 as mentioned in a post. They're all only as good as the guy pulling the trigger and sharpening the chain. IMHO, They're all very nice saws. The 461 is the...
