Adding green wood to overnight load

My mom always wants a load of green wood for the burning season. Last year, I didn't cut her any green wood. Guess what. She still has had coals in the furnace in the morning, even during this winter's long cold snap. She mentioned to me that she didn't have creosote build up in the chimney...

    Phones ringing..

Just a thought, and I know you probably do not have everyone's #, but since these, as you say are regular customers, perhaps call them a few days in advance by judging how much firewood you have burned vs. the amount of firewood you last delivered to customers. If you watch the weather...

    Extreme Stihl Dealer Dissapointment

I guess that includes all of those lemmings that buy those high quality Rancher 455s at Lowe's..

    Extreme Stihl Dealer Dissapointment

One thing to consider also is, if the dealer has a saw in stock, he has probably been paying interest on inventory. On a special order saw, the dealer knows he is going to have a fast turn over on the saw, therefore he doesn't have it taking up self space/money, and can therefore (possibly)...

2010 MS391 what do you think

Why would a a guy have 20 half worn out chains and a couple of rim sprockets for a month-old-or-so saw? My dad used to cut firewood to sell and he never had more that 2 or 3 chains for the saw at any given time. And no sprockets. Just seems strange to me is all.

    This`ll make you cringe.

It didn't show that part. It just to him getting his leg over the branch, then cut to an empty ladder leaning on the tree. You can hear sirens in the background. I assume that was the ambulance or first responders coming in.

Broken Axe handle & New Axe recommendations

Traditional? Go with a Gransfors Bruks axe. Hand forged steel, made in Sweden. Expensive though.

Drill a 1" hole in the top of the stick, about half the length of the stick, fill it with gunpowder, cap it off, light the fuse and get away.

How do you guys make people happy by the cord?

    20" Firewood = 1.66' Stack of firewood = 8' long Height of firewood stack = 4.85' high. 1.66 * 4.85 * 8 * 2 = 128.816. That's pretty dang close.

    KIlled one in the woodshed

I believe you. I mean after all... they wouldn't "fight" all the time if the kingsnake won all the time. Balance in nature. Just like a black snake doesn't always catch the mouse he is wanting for dinner. My thought was meant to be, I am all for anything that will help eliminate a...

    KIlled one in the woodshed

Two snakes you NEVER kill: black snakes and king snakes (aka saltn pepper snakes, among others...lots of different types of king snakes out there). Kings kill copperheads, mice, rats, etc. Blacks do tangle with copperheads too, and sometimes win. Plus all the mice and rats. How fraking long...

Technicnally, the trailer did hold the log. Unfortunately, someone forgot to factor in the capabilities of the truck.
