    Heat for my chainsaw shed

My Buddy heater always impresses. Bonus: portable, so it can be relocated anyplace else it’s needed. Mine has been used in power outages, hunting cabins, camping, XC ski event checkpoint... Love it so much I picked up a 2nd (larger model) and got one for a family member too.

    "You Suck" Thread 2019--Pics required!

Neighbor stopped by couple days ago, tells me his MS260 won't stay running. I expected he was asking for help but then follows up by saying the dealer looked at it and says it needs a new carb. Rather than throwing $ at an "old saw" he just ordered a new 261CM, instead. Oh, and would I like his...

    Cleaning stove glass

My inexpensive daily glass cleaner is generic windex mixed with 1/3 ammonia. Spritz on, let sit 30 seconds, most everything wipes off with a swipe. -Eric.

    Oregon Pro-Lite vs Double Guard?

Good insight, Philbert, thanks. Was just a little concerned that this “light” bar could turn out to be chintzy or flexy. On 16” those few ounces difference isn’t probably a big deal, but being from the “simplicate and add lightness“ school, less is usually favored. I’ll prob spring for the...

    Oregon Pro-Lite vs Double Guard?

-bump- Really, no opinions? Everybody out cutting winter deadfall?

    91VXL Chain is very chattery

I’m really surprised to hear that— after so many positive comments about VXL a couple years ago I got a loop for my 30cc limber. Immediately loved its speed and smoothness so much I tossed all the old chains and ordered several more VXL’s. Never found any of them to be chattery nor grabby. In...

    Oregon Pro-Lite vs Double Guard?

Opinion or info on one versus the other? Looking to put a decent 16” bar on a little echo CS370 PH I scored a few years ago— I can get either for about the same price, and the Oregons seem to be the best quality/price that can be mail ordered up here. Thanks! -Eric.

    eBay coupon

Probably something their algorithms picked up on and uniquely targeted-- a combination of narrowly missing that 15% combined with recently selling numerous things via the app (nothing Arboristsite-interesting, just a some vintage photog and hi-fi stuff) then turning that $ right back around into...

    eBay coupon

FWIW, I got notification of a 10%-off coupon code today, via the app, good thru the end of the month. Probably enough to push me into an Oregon ProLite bar and a couple loops of vxl for that long-neglected new PH Echo cs370 I scored like 5 years ago

    Echo 310 14" to 16" bar?

14” feels ideal on mine, I’m certain longer would be do-able but much less enjoyable with a 16”. Doubly-so if it hasn’t been tuned with a muff mod and carb adjustment. If 16” is really important, upgrading to the bigger-engine twin, the cs352, could be an option. But to complicate the answer...

Want to Sell Echo cs352 in Carlsbad CA (cheap!)

Not mine and no affiliation, just came across this eBay listing while parts shopping, too good a deal to not pass on to someone here.. A "used condition" echo CS352 for $62 or best offer(!) , local pick up only in Carlsbad. Looks to be in good shape. But even if it’s roasted, the clutch cover...

    Echo cs490 B&C help

Some great, useful info, thanks guys. I’d read about people grinding their other Echo bars, but didn’t know it was as simple as shortening one of the plentiful cs370/400’s. As for mods, of course it’ll get a MM— c’mon, does anybody who posts here leave anything stock?? But I will stick with...

    Echo cs490 B&C help

Walking thru Home Depot I caught a glimpse of orange on a top endcap clearance shelf, a new cs490– didn’t even know HD carried those! PH only & missing oil cap, so the manager knocked it down further to $175. Done deal, especially since my Ms260 Pro recently stopped oiling. However... It...

    026 carburetor Tech Help Please

My 026 Pro is similarly equipped w/ the Lo-only carb (and although rich, it did run mostly fine). Do some searching, there's old AS threads on muff-modding w/ this carb. In a nutshell, this combo did tend to run rich so one fix is a modest muff mod. I poked an add'l 5/16" hole beneath the...

    Best 30cc Chainsaw?

As another possibility... It's surprising how quickly one of these can dispatch <5" wood, and has about a thousand less moving parts to worry about in the wilderness.

    Best 30cc Chainsaw?

I've made a [disproportionate] number of posts singing the praises of my 31cc Echo cs310, particularly after a light tune and loop of VXL. Tough, cheap, light, plentiful, reliable. Only thing I expect to trade it for would be a good deal on its 35cc twin brother, the cs352.

    MS260 modest compression quick fix?

Oh, duh. -forehead slap- Yeah, these 026/260 AFs need attention after every outing so I'm surprised I didn't catch it immediately. But then again, had it been noticed sooner the seller wouldn't have let the saw go so cheap. Of course, but I prefer my own trees in their vertical form. If a...

    MS260 modest compression quick fix?

Just to update-- not b/c my results are particularly interesting but mostly b/c I dislike reading old threads where there's no resolution. It's poor etiquette for the OP to just disappear. I discovered the air filter was pretty much pasted air tight, which would account for the seller's...
