    Narrow kerf - 20" bar

20NK on Husky ported 262xp Good discussion! Glad to see some interest in this set up. I cant say enough good things about running the lighter .325, 20 inch bar and 20NK chain. Ive never had a breakag----,boring, felling, limbing, bucking. For a small guy like me, weight and sharpness are...

Homelite 360 poor oiling HI Guys, My first homelite project , a 360 nice shape, runs very well. Bar that came with it was burned. Saw oils good, but its not getting to the chain. It looks to me like it needs a bar plate on the outside against the cover to contain the oil?? IPL for this...

.325 narrow kerf on 50cc saw

325 NK on Husky 262xp ported, 20" NK bar-- wow!! Ive been using Bailey's (Carlton I believe) chisel 325 NK for several years now on 026 and Husky 51 with great results in Ponderosa and Doug Fir. I fell and buck and use it around the sawmill, any place a 20" bar gets the job done. No...

Husky 281/288 front av part number??

Great pics, one Im working on had no av,s in front, just gone. If you look into the holes where the little buggers thread in on your picture, it is smooth.. there never was anything threaded into the hole-- maybe it just lay in there and when it wore out just fell out. Thats what confused me...

Husky 281/288 front av part number??

Ive got a dozen IPL for these saws and nowhere do they show the two front av buffers that go between the tank and handle. Not referring to the big spring mounted externally.. My handle does not have a place for a threaded av-- hole on handle part is smooth, like a bolt goes thru it. Im...

    .325 versus .375 pitch chain

Lots of confusion on chain 325x063 -- Bar is prob a hair lighter, but doesnt wear as well as rails are thinner!! To be truthfull I never did see a use for that gauge!! Might as well go with 3/8x050 and get a good long lasting bar. Now give me a 325x050 gauge in a narrow kerf and...

    .325 versus .375 pitch chain

Here we go!!!! Gonna have to agree with Knight on this one--- properly designed 325 chain cutting a more narrow kerf has got to use less energy-- simple phyisics guys-- Having said that, you still need the right chain speed for what you are cutting. Its pretty simple these days on most saws...

    Husky 154 modded-bigger carb?

Rainy Morning in New Mexico-working on some saws........... Questions refer to husky 154. Cylinder on this one was not perfect but cleaned up decent. Expanded the exhaust port a little-- left the cylinder end alone, but opened up and polished the muffler end. Did the same to the input...

    Big bar syndrome

Nobody seems to know why-- I guess it just got away from them. I live in a little remote community in New Mexico. I guess maybe nobody had the resources? A tree company came in years ago and took off everything down to about 30 feet, but they were afraid to fell it, and its was way too big...
