    24"-32" depending on species of wood. Tip of the bar to the chip deflector on the 460 and on the smaller saws the full length of that saw. Chuck D.

    .325 vs 3/8

    I purchased a 100' roll a 3/8 stihl chisel for my 031, 460 and my dolmar 510 w/16" bar. For me it keeps everything the same. With the dolmar only being 50cc, I keep the rakers at .15 to .20. Anymore then that I would have to hold up the saw.

    Stacking VS Piling

    What works for me is. Standing on end the first row of wood then pile on top of that, only keeping the piles 8' x 6' x 60' and growing. I stacked for five years on pallets but it comings down to it if you burn alot of wood, how many times to do you want to touch it? Chuck D

    What happened to the auto-cycle valves that you could purchase for northern tool, dalton, or surplus center. Did they take them offf the market? Safety reasons? I have not tried ebay or amazon yet. Thanks Guys Chuck D.

    Apples too Apples For OWB

    WM 4400 heats 3600 sq. 117 gals of water. fire box is 36 x 42. 5 logs 6 x 30 holds for 12 hrs. at 6 above. Good Luck Chuck D.

    OWB, Ash Removal?

    I shovel out 5 gallons of ash a week, give or take. I found out if I keep a good ash rotation it burns right to a powder. Chuck D

    power out woodmaster 4400

    I wired the boilier and furnace together. Then ran a pig tail out of the box. I barrowed a 1500 watt generator with a 45 min. gas tank so it was a quick fix. Good luck Chuck D.

    I use bark to help get the fire going in the boiler.

    Best General Boots for Woods?

    I wear Asolo's and Kayland's. I pay $150 to $200. I used to buy Red Wing loggers but the sole's wore out to fast, also not being gortex didn't help. I like the backpackers style of boots because of their light weight. Good Luck Chuck D.

    Old Splitter New Problems

    I had the same problem with my hydro tank. Mine tank is 21" pipe x 20" tall in which i thought also that it would be fine to just dump the oil into the top of the tank, but after 2 or 3hrs of use the cylinder would start to stutter. I solved the problem with a down pipe half way down the tank...
