    Small axe for wedge driving

^^^^this. I've got one of the small Fiskars hatchets just for tapping wedges in while bucking a log. It is a great little tool and chops like crazy, but it ain't gonna do you much good in trying to lift wood.

    Quartering a 42" Pine Log

I'd say that was a job well done! He may skip the mill and just let you plank it out:cheers:

    2009 Chainsaw Health Challenge!

If you like chocolate/peanut butter, try this protein powder. It is top quality and made in America (which is very rare for whey protein), but the deal with this stuff is that is tastes awesome even in water. In milk it is seriously like a desert. You will need a shaker bottle or to use the...

    Arkansas Oklahoma Missouri GTG.....Who's game?

The weather in this area can be all over the map that time of year. If at all possible, I'd say to try to keep both weekends open and let the weather pick the date for us. Rain in December makes anything pretty miserable. Of course its very possible to be 60 in the daylight and high 40s at night.

    Arkansas Oklahoma Missouri GTG.....Who's game?

Pretty much. I'm planning on quite a large fire, a good sleeping bag, and maybe a tent depending on the weather conditions.

    Arkansas Oklahoma Missouri GTG.....Who's game?

Well, I am certainly no cajun, but whatever we come up with should be quite edible. :biggrinbounce2: I will be glad to bring a couple of pork shoulders or something like that. Those things can feed the masses!

    Arkansas Oklahoma Missouri GTG.....Who's game?

Deer is very lean, and really doesn't lend itself to smoking. I prefer the pig, but we can always wrap bambi up in some butcher cut bacon.

    Shindaiwa 757 ported....

The 357 that Jasha ported for me is also 200+ psi and runs great on 91 octane, ethanol free pump gas. I've never tried any race gas.

    346XP muffler mod/tach findings...

I like to buck even mid size stuff (10-14") with it. When fully broken in it's an animal....as you know! :)

    Electrolyte replenishment

I like Euroford's post on the subject. Typically, just use your head. The more severe the condition, the more frequent your breaks should be. When you feel like you're getting too hot, take a break! I always prefer foods over manufactured drinks or pills whenever possible, and plain...

    346XP muffler mod/tach findings...

Definitely a fun saw to run! I'm surprised yours was so rich after that many tanks. Just set up super duper rich I guess. I put a 357xp dog on mine and it helps to keep things away from the muffler a little better.

    346XP muffler mod/tach findings...

How many tanks had been run through the saw prior to your retune? Mine came in with both limiters pegged on the rich side and the saw turned in the mid 12K range. I left it alone for break in, and by the time I had run 5-6 tanks through, it was in the low/mid 13K range and much much...

Brush Cutter - Husky 235fr vs Stihl fs250

I've no experience with the Husky, but have been very satisfied with my 250. I have about 5 acres including a long driveway/road that winds up a hillside, so there is a variety of thick tough stuff that regularly needs to be tamed. The 250 has tons of power, and with the comfort harness is a...

    Cyclone wheels?

Thanks for posting that (and you too Smokinj). About a month or so ago, the 3/16" wheel was maybe $30 more than the other two. I hadn't looked at them since. Now if I can only remember if they all just went to the higher price :)
