Am I in the Tropics; What are these Worms?

We have them here also, the beetle looks like this They will infest your wood so i'm killing them if i find them. As stated here before they are real carpenters and chew up a lot of wood quite fast. Found them the first time in a walnut tree and when the beetles came out i catched them...

18" bar on the saw.... rotate saw 90 degrees after first cut and see where end of bar is, thats where you have to cut the log... repeat etc works out quite well and you dont have to mark or carry something extra.

How do you "drive" your stove?

Well, been raised aside 2 jotuls and now have 2 myself All the classic design but i did have a cleanburn feature on a Dove before in my previous house. Draft might be one of your issues as i never ever had any problems but too hot temps with them. I do not have a damper valve (never had)...

How much per hour would you charge to split wood??

i am very surprised with the numbers i see.... yes i do agree that a 100$ / hour is acceptable looking at labour and investment write-off but... What are you guys paying for your wood?? or what volume are you processing in an hour? Splitting only i am at 2.5m3 per hour, but those are 1...

    My New MS361

Brad is right. and there is topic on it somewhere here explaining the whole thing. Point being that the mixture is not correct between idle and WOT as fuel is delivered for one of both situations by the resp. jets and throttle position High jet starts working when you touch the throttle...

    Question about splitter

may i throw in a different approach? I guess these bolts are not there to take any forces but just to position the wedge. So it might be worth checking if the wedge or ram are not worn out somewhere an add some material/ make repair if necessary. IF my thinking is correct you dont want...

    Boiler pump help

just throwing in my 2 cents without knowledge on your system... If the pump is from a respectable supplier you should have a chance to replace the engine but most design today will not allow that in a cost effective way (pump and engine share housing and shaft) How this can happpen? the...

compact 4x4 tractor or big atv

2 cents from my side had to make this choice almost a year ago and i went for the small tractor. Didn't regret it once. The FEL (front end loader) is as already stated worth gold (and also doubles pricing of these second hand tractors) There is 1 reason why i would go for an atv and...

    My unexpected logsplitter

Harry Barker It means that the stacks as seen in the pictures are cut without handling. No matter if it are rounds or the split pieces. You stand on one side of the stack and ripp 2 vertical cuts from top to bottom. then you walk to the other side of the stack so your assistant can take...

    My unexpected logsplitter

Thanks for all the reactions. Now to answer your questions,.. Steve, You are absolutely right with your statements about width restrictions etc The reason for the wood being cut in 1m lengths is quite logic. We are using the metric system. That means that not only a cubic meter is...

Today my neigbour and i were splitting appr 3.5 cords of wood with my new splitter toy. ( 21 ton homemade horizontal splitter on tractor hydraulics) He is a great guy and veterinary as profession (so knows something about cutting meat). As he was my splitb!tch for the day he was...

    My unexpected logsplitter

Flewism, Its a Iseki TL1900 must be 15 year old or so. On the curl of the bucket wont work, 7ft wide is a bit too much to be handy. We just finished splitting 10 cubics in exactly 4 hours with 2 man and 1 break included. That makes 2.5m3 per hour. Now lets calculate a bit> what is...

    My unexpected logsplitter

Here is mine, It came up for sale for 300$, no way i could resist that pricetag so i dumped my building plans. The guy is metalworker/welder as profession and had different types of home-build tractors and implements standing in his garden which all were kind of over-build. What is...

    Opinions

not done for an employer but here i write it.... you cannot expect them to smile when you are leaving. if they do, that would be the time to question yourself. It is always inconvenient when somebody leaves your company. If it would not be i call it bad management because it would...
